Ed O’s recruiting classes were 5th, 4th, and 3rd, who will match that?

Is Woodward getting LSU a coach who will match O’s recruiting classes? That’s just as important as the X’s and O’s. I think that Aranda definitely could, but what does a plumber know? :)

If the new coach is winning he will
Get the recruits. The good thing about LSU is that we own our own state which is talent rich in many positions. I also want to the new coach to be able to go to Iowa and get some of those corn fed o linemen!

We need better development or evaluation then. You have to manage your roster. We had those classes and we have no O line and Lbs are not great

Does an established LSU not recruit itself?

Let me finish the question for you...

Who will match that...and also keep them on the roster.

2019 recruiting class has effectively dissolved. Measure only one side of the equation and will find LSU in the 1990s.

Miles classes were just as good and better in some cases. Recruiting has never been a problem at LSU.

That's very nice. I don't care if the new coach gets the #1 or the #10 class, as long as they all get to campus, the core of the class stays on campus, and they actually develop into SEC caliber players. This is where o messed up. He might have a top 5 class but half of them transfers and another 3rd doesn't pan out

Les Miles’ last three classes were ranked 6, 2, and 2. LSU recruits itself.

When half of them transfer or get injured are they really 5th, 4th, 3rd? Plus you have to coach the talent, doesn’t matter what they did in high school… I’d rather a real coach who know what to do with players

And have you seen the results on the field? Rather than recruiting for roster needs and recruiting offensive linemen that may have a lower rating they decided to fill the classes with highly rated athletes so that they could look good in the recruiting rankings. Because of wanting the off season headline and O needing to continually prove his recruiting prowess he sold out team needs for headlines

I’d rather a class ranked tenth which fills our actual needs, has better talent evaluation and where half our five stars haven’t left before their freshman year is even half over.

Admittedly Orgeron is a great recruiter. If you look back on those classes though how many have we lost in the transfer portal? How many have not been developed? Orgeron is great at bringing in top 5 classes. He has not been great at building a roster,

Miles was recruiting well, then he wasn’t at times. So obviously it’s not all LSU. Aranda just seems like the perfect Saban clone. Aranda like Saban doesn’t feel the need to rah, rah you, he lets his work on the field do his talking,

I'd rather recruiting classes that address needs. A high ranking doesn't mean you're building a good team.
