Ed Orgeron’s tangible actions that should quell any division/frustration amongst players

1) He created/enabled a player-led council that makes decisions for the team and promotes players into a leadership role. Building them as men.
2) He tries to keep all suspension/team discipline issues in house and out of the public arena
3) He treats the players like his sons and is supportive of them in the media regardless of his personal feelings on their decisions
4) He hires former Black players to come back and work with the team (Kelvin Sheppard, Bennie Logan, Kevin Faulk, Eddie Kennison, Dwayne Thomas, etc.)
5) He releases a statement early on that he will not tolerate racism of any form in the program.
6) He met with the team multiple times to address their concerns about racism/social injustices.
7) He let Ryan Clark come speak to at least a portion of the team even after Clark took shots at O and his leadership on social media.
8) He reaches out to Pete Carroll for advice on how to handle these issues after Carroll gave an impassioned speech on said issues.
Is all this erased because he made one comment that he “loves Trump” on a conservative news station, while advocating for the players to get to play this season?
From my vantage point, his actions speak loudly about his views.

Well put. O has done about all that he can here.

The players deal with him on a daily basis. They know him better than most.

The fact this bothers someone says more about that someone than Trump.
What, we have to like only the people that person likes? This is beyond stupid.

O has overcome so much adversity to get to where he is. I feel for him right now. Innocent bystander dealt a shitty hand after covid and now this political BS and social issues.

It isn’t about O. It’s about who they believe O showed support for publicly. Anyone with half a brain knows O is a genuinely good dude with his players best interest at heart.

Everyone will forget about this in 3 weeks once games are played. Remember all the people who were FURIOUS that he’s buddies with JBE? How often have you heard from them?
Ed isn’t trying to get political. He says he likes the governor. He says he likes the president. He would say he liked anybody in that position because he is being cordial.

While there were a couple of “hairy” days within LSU football regarding all this, I really think the whole situation is diffusing itself and calming down.

There are a lot of weak minded people out there. One day they will learn that the world doesn't revolve around their pansy arse feelings.

Yes we will forget. It's total BS. But Saban and others recruiting against LSU will try to spin this to use against O.

I highly doubt Ed O takes the time to read tweets by Trump or watch his speeches or watches the DNC or the RNC. His comments about Trump and JBE are very likely more focused on how he personally felt respected and treated by these two individuals and nothing more than that.
In the time of an Election year with emotions so high on both sides, he really doesn't need to be taking calls from the non-sports media. Its just a distraction from the job he's likely putting in 14 to 16 hours a day, presently.

He's not. He is mostly all football. He works from like 5 am to 10 pm or something. I imagine he pays very little attention to politics.

If I were Coach O, my “#1” would have been to approach the BLM thing and the different shootings as though I was all on board...
And that we (Coach O and the whole team) would take a whole day off practice to learn everything there is to know about BLM and these shootings.
We would learn everything there is to know about the victims we are celebrating (criminal records, life story, etc).
Then we’d watch all the shootings and present all the current evidence known to the public.
Then we’d go to the BLM website, twitter, etc. and read all the things they stand for.
We’d watch all the videos we could of the riots. Shooting of David Dorn, innocent people getting their skulls caved in by BLM, etc.
Then we’d watch the video of one of the BLM founders says “we are trained marxists”.
Then we’d learn as much as we could about marxism.
Along the way, I’d ask the team to raise their hands if they supported each thing we covered.
... We’d be educated as frick by the end.

The first rule to understand the "woke" crowd: reason and accountability do not apply!

I think O is simply respecting the office of the presidency or whomever the sitting president is. O loves JBE.
Also, remember that when Miles brought O on board, he said he loved Miles and respected him. O is openly complimentary of most people he’s had interactions with and especially towards those in leadership positions above him.

What has O done that is so terrible? I keep seeing allusions to the team calling him out but never any threads discussing and detailing what’s going on and why.

He said that Trump is doing a good job.
