I try to avoid the scoreboard...a few times ive checked it during a game and we just laugh at how dumb some of the thread titles are

Hey Dude,

What's up?

I'm here to give your favorite coach some credit. You have always cried because you thought I was slighting him in some way.

Well he is doing one hell of a job this year with the Longhorns. He is 6-4 with two games remaining in the regular season. He takes his unranked Horns on the road to face #13 and 9-1 Baylor this Saturday and then faces Texas Tech at home to finish.

He's doing one hell of a job over there. You should be very proud.

We are talking about the same scheme and defensive philosophy that kept us relevant the last 3 years while our offense was way worse than what the defense is this year, right?

Maybe Aranda has the same scheme and defensive philosophy as before but the players are different so there should be some creative schemings to prep players to a game. You don't rely on the same scheme and defensive philosophy over and over again and expect it still works.

Self-Critique is really a wonderful thing. And it works.

The idea of being harsh on oneself, if warranted, after a 3 possession margin W is 'beautiful' to me.

I really wish Les had been capable of that. He would've been a whole different head coach. But for now, I have nothing but respect for the players and staff to...

a) have the discipline to know they need to do self-critique
b) capacity to avoid egos from preventing self-critique, players and staff
c) to realize it really never stops producing better net results... the effect is cumulative.

ETA: DTig, I think you hit the button on the head.

He said “we” meaning O and Aranda. You’ve got such a hard on for Aranda it’s affecting your reading skills.

and next to 0 can distinguish between the two unless you understand the scheme and assignments to each player...

and BTW, totally agreeing with you...

I for one cannot stand when people go after Aranda and they have literally no idea what hes calling.. then you look at film after the game and the guy literally has the perfect defense called for a play 83% of the game... its insane how good the guy is...

Aint aint hard when you watch the film to see who is not playing well.

Dang we have had week after week to look at the defense issues and still looking at them 10 weeks later. Hoping Coach O can find it soon. getting nervous going down the stretch our luck may run out especially if we make the playoff.

Absolutely!!! Nor do they have any idea WHO is calling the plays...

Orgeron admits that he was the one who called for a blitz on a long run in the first half, when inside linebacker Patrick Queen and outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson chased the running back, while Ole Miss quarterback John Rhys Plumlee faked the handoff and sprinted free for a 46-yard touchdown.

I see you still havent learned the difference between liking a coach and calling out your hypocrisy.
It's still hypocritical to not count Herman's 1st year at Houston because it ,"wasnt his team" but then count Ed Orgeron's interim tenures.

I'm sorry you're too stupid to realize that.

I know a ton of people have been melting over the defense but unlike most people, I'm not too concerned about it cause there are no more Ole Miss's and Plumlee's left on our schedule.

As our run defense has been pretty decent all season long and I don't see why that will not continue into the future.

As that Ole Miss game was an anomaly and we won't see another team like that for the remainder of the season.

Had Aranda prepared the defense to face a triple-option team like he did for the Georgia Southern game, LSU would have held Plumlee and company in check for that game last Saturday. As Plumlee and those running backs were essentially the same thing as a triple-option team. As it was mostly eye violations that caused LSU all of the problems.
