Kiss college sports goodbye
In what year will LSU no longer field football, baseball and basketball teams?

in 5 years they won't be worth watching
What specifically do you see changing that will make college sports not worth watching anymore?

Eventually the Academics will tire of it and shut it down. The academic side of student/athlete is already a joke.
Probably will morph into regional developmental leagues.

I honestly would not worry about small market issue. Here’s why. Living in the Bay Area, when Stanford was a top 10 team and beat top ranked USC, it barely made a news cast and it was relegated to the back of the Sports section. A lot of these bigger markets have a lot more interesting things to compete for attention, pro sports, or politics or outdoor activities, etc. The passion for college sports isn’t there. Case in point, National Signing day a few years ago, before the early signing period I was in a room of 50 plus people for a kickoff meeting and I brought it up, no one had a clue or care. Do it’s really just an after thought in many big markets.

Dude apples and oranges. Bay Area and Dallas/Austin the whole state of Texas love football. Bay Area loves wine and trees.

Pay/NIL and transfers/free agency will only take away from the sport as it is now. Only time will tell who manages this better than the others.
I will be watching no matter what. Just a fan.

No I mean that it isn’t happening already and he feels the need to rally the troops.
I admittedly am paranoid about LSU becoming a “small market” team in the NIL era
No team in any said market can restrict an LSU player from going to another state and negotiating an NIL deal. Olivia Dunne the LSU gymnast singed with a company out in Los Angeles California (who knows where the CEO went to School). She signed for > $1 million. Any attempt to do so by a University in a particular state would get into interstate commerce issues, which FEDS have 100% jurisdiction.
No company is going to give money for doing nothing, that is misappropriation of assets, fraud, etc. IF they are Publicly traded company, even more so SEC oversight, SOX, large blocks of shareholders monitoring the CEO, etc, etc.
A player signs a contract with a company dictating their contractual obligation to the Company, the Company sets the fee/money they will pay the athlete. All of that will be sent through the Companies Legal and Tax Departments and be accounted for properly by their Accounting Department.
The biggest issue here is to make sure the student athlete understands what a 1099 is and how to file taxes. Don't want the IRS coming to arrest your starting QB, Pitcher or Point Guard, etc for Tax evasion.

"I don't think I can bring Joe back, but I can bring the offense back." #LSU
Munoz (Burrow Buddy) was on Staff and ready to step right in as PGC.
Nope. Scott Linehan a better choice, huh?
He and E had no clue what Brady's Offense was. If they did, it would have been run.

The players on offense were not as good as 2019, and the defense was fricking terrible.

Or 2017. Or 2018.
