I think too many people are lacking consideration of what the XFL is going to have to offer as well.

The XFL has 8 52-man rosters to fill & will be paying players at least $2,725/wk. + a $2,222/game win bonus.

A good number of players are going to leave bench positions & the classrooms to head to a paycheck.

We will see many Tigers leave for the NFL & additionally the XFL. This will be a growing story in the next 2-3 years.

K'lavon really should stay. He is a long way away from being a polished or even consistently effective pass rusher much less a well rounded OLB. CEH cannot raise stock at a position with limited years to make money. Delpit is top 15. Charles will be low rd pick and dumb to go. JJ is in similar position as CEH. stock will only go down. Phillips and Queen are not close to top 3 rds. Moss all depends on what he wants to do. His stock could rise a good bit now as a known commodity in an offense that may throw shorter stuff to TE much more frequently next year.

Cush and Charles are probably real possibilities to leave. Not sure how much Cush can raise his grade by returning, nor am I sure where he would rank as a C coming out.

I tend to agree with Cushenberry. He's a 4th year guy and I'm not sure he could do a hell of a lot more to raise his stock. Charles, on the other hand, could raise his stock in light of the fact he missed half the season because of violating team rules. That said, he may very well be one of those guys who decides he's "out" simply because he doesn't want to abide by the rules (it takes a lot of rule breaking to get suspended for half the damn season!)

The one that people think may go who REALLY should stay is Phillips. Yes, the tackle numbers are high, but he didn't make a ton of "splash" plays this year and rarely jumped off the screen to anyone. In fact, when we saw big plays being made by an ILB it was generally Queen doing so. Plus, there were more than a few occasions where he (and the other LB's) were badly out of position. He looks the part, but probably isn't right now anything more than, at best, a 3rd round pick.

Jefferson & Stevens should run in the 4.5’s with a shot to break through that

If we win it all, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them all go and start getting paid. Phillips and Queen would have a legit chance of increasing their stock but they could also be mid round picks and start getting paid.

My point is he improved dramatically from Soph to junior year in my opinion

But that’s not true. D White was first team all SEC and an All American his sophomore year. With his measurables he would have easily gone in the first round that year if he were allowed.

I don't think anyone was saying he would win the Butkus award after his soph year

Wat?

He was a consensus pre-season first team All American going into his junior year. Are we talking about the same Devin White?

And went #5 the next year.

Are you arguing that by staying an extra year (by rule) his stock didn't go up?

I am not saying either of these two are comparable to White. I just think they could really benefit form one more year. That is all.

I think teams see him as a project with the measurable to succeed. Could be another Danielle Hunter in the pro's.

Bookmarked to refer come Spring.

Some of you people, yes you people, have no idea what life is like for a college athlete from a lower class family.

Money talks + BS walks.

To be clear-I am not saying that leaving for the XFL is the right or the smart choice. But it will happen at a rate that far too many aren't realizing. In the event the league lasts more than 2 seasons, it will then begin to HEAVILY effect recruiting.

Enough to get a contract that was ten times larger (like you implied would happen with Jefferson, Phillips and Stevens) ? Hell no.

He’s easily a mid-first round pick after his sophomore season. Imagine if he had had that exact same season as a junior and projected to be a mid-round pick. Would anyone be saying, “Yeah, DWhite might go with the 15th/16th pick, but he really needs to come back for a fourth year to have a shot at being #5”? No one would be saying that.

Your argument likely has some validity with respect to Stevens. Maybe with Phillips. I don’t believe it does with Jefferson and White doesn’t even remotely belong in this conversation.

That was hyperbole.

You don't Jefferson could become a 1st round receiver?

It all depends on how he runs, which I'm not sure another year makes a difference

his production more than likely drops next year with Brennan
