38-13 LSU of course... can't wait to watch this in person, I've lived here for 5 years and I prayed every night LSU would either play Oregon, Wazzu, or UW... Thank you Baby Jesus.

What Washington will be saying when we finally finish having our way with them.

45-17 LSU
Tigers pull away from a scrappy Washington team in the second half. I see the defense stuggling in the first half getting their feet wet with the new system. Same for J.J. after a so so first half, he settles down and throws for 200 plus and 2 TD's. Chuck the truck runs for 140 and 2 tds also.

Naturally I hope we deliver a huge beating, but I also hope the team is not as breezily confident as some of us are. I used to live the the Seattle area, and I read the local papers online from time to time. Recently, there have been a number of articles in the papers up there about the new attitude Sarkasian has instilled in the Huskie program. Long story short, they've been embarrassingly bad up there for some time, and they're certainly on a mission to change that.
I just hope—and I'm betting—that our Tigers understand they have a lot to prove in 2009, a lot of hype to live up to—and the only place they can make that stuff happen is on the field. Not in press conferences or message boards or the media—on the field, period. No better way to get the ball rolling than with a season-opening away win against a PAC-10 team.
FWIW, some recent Huskie developments I've read about are player shifts on their offensive line, with some players playing at new positions, and a move to slim down their o-line, make 'em leaner and faster. And of course, everybody's happy to see Sarkasian, with his USC pedigree, leading the program.
For anyone who's interested, the Tacoma News-Tribune covers the Huskies pretty well, that's where I've been going for articles.
Too early for me to make a prediction, but if we're injury free, motivated and focused, I think we'll get the season off to a great start in Seattle. Can't wait for the freakin' season to begin.

41-20. Pure adrenaline will keep them in it until halftime. Then a late score to make it look a little better.

59-12. (You already had my predicted score.) The Tigers are going to turn those huskpuppies into mush.

I really don't see LSU winning by 40+. Too many factors lead me to believe it will be closer than expected. I think first and foremost you're underestimating the distance of the trip. Secondly, this is the first game of the year. They've been scheming for this game since it was set. This will be the game that could turn their program around. I'm thinking LSU wins, but closer to 17 than 40.
