He's currently making his debut in Florida Complex League. He's wholly overqualified to be playing there. It's merely a formality because he's been off for a few weeks and the complex is where all the signing stuff happens. This is just a way to give him at bats against live pitching before he's sent to a full season affiliate.

He will be in Fredrickburg or Wilmington very soon.

The pitching he is facing in the FCL is probably worse than what he saw in SEC play

Yes and no. The guys he faced so far for the Cardinals were an international signing from Taiwan that's 21 and a 2023 draftee from a Cali JUCO.

If it were HS draftees or younger international signings, definitely.

Both leagues have a wide delta on pitching talent though, the SEC and the Complex league. The upper tier SEC pitchers are far more advanced though.

Yeah I didn't do the dirty work of looking into the exact pitchers he faced. I left that to you

The Taiwan kid is 6'7" 188.

I like him for the long term, but he needs to get to the training table.

And looks like he's only seen 3 pitches so far. Very efficient day.

There's no Fredrickburg. Did you mean AA Harrisburg?

LOL, yep. They do. I've been to Blue Rock and Senators' games. Didn't realize they had a Low A team in Fredricksburg. My Bad.

Maybe 1 or 2 guys. But that's about it.

And he didn't just face high end guys in the SEC and the CWS.

He faced the full spectrum of guys in the SEC and the lowest tier guys he faced there are as bad or worse than the lowest tier guys he will have faced in the Complex league.

That's why it's not a simple yes or no despite what "many have said"

Not definitely. There is a wide, wide range of pitching talent there this time of year. I dont profess to even guess at which is which. It is not out of the norm that Crews could go 3 for 3 against very good pitching.
