Crews, who was the second player picked in the 2023 MLB Draft after leading the Tigers to the national championship that June, struck out eight consecutive times in the Nationals’ last two games on Sunday and Saturday against Philadelphia.
The MLB record for non-pitchers is nine straight strikeouts, according to The Baseball Almanac, and is held by seven players, most recently Boston’s Yoan Moncada, who did it over four games from Sept. 5 through Sept. 12 in 2016.

Surely there's gotta be a woman of size on this board who can offer her services to a Tiger legend

Washington DC’s obesity rate is almost 5% below the national average. Doesn’t bode well for Crews

First pitch I'm seeing, I'm bunting

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he having some issues with his eyes after he got hit in the head last year?

That's honestly surprising considering how quick his hands are and how well he sees the ball. Wonder if something else is going on. I know it's a big jump for anyone but that's just an odd stat for a guy who always seemed to see the ball well and slap with contact.

Did he suddenly get off the juice?

He batted .357 in 10 games during spring training. He’ll be fine

Born to be a record breaker! Joking, he'll bounce back.

Hitting is so much more about the mental aspect than mechanics. Watching Crews at LSU, I was 10X more impressed with his approach than this swing. He had tremendous discipline, hardly ever swung at a bad pitch and used the whole field. But once you start slumping, you start overthinking everything and next thing you know, it's 0-2 and your chasing bad pitches. He'll figure it out.

1. Bet on Crews to get a hit tonight (-145)
2. Profit
2. Profit

According to Baseball Almanac the record for most consecutive strikeouts in consecutive games (consecutive plate appearances) for a non-pitcher is 13 by Jim Hannan of the Senators in '68.
If non-consecutive plate appearances the record is 15 by the Expos Mike Thurman in '98
Baseball Almanac
Another factless hit piece from Gilbeau.

Take out the Ghetto Kweenz and the numbers are worse than that. Never seen so many skinny white girls running in freezing weather

Sophomore slump. Hang in there, DC. We're all rooting for ya.

0 for 1, NOT A STRIKEOUT!
Groundout to 3rd

Crisis averted - groundout to 3B.

Not when we’re talking about a streak for consecutive strikeouts
