What is the ncaa or sec obp% record for a year or carrier for that matter?

NCAA only has obp% stats going back to 2008. The highest I can find since then is Adley Rutschman at .575 in 2019.

Um, no bro. Bregman was great but Crews is on another level. You can easily make the case Crews is #1 or #2 best baseball player to ever come through LSU. He's undoubtedly in that conversation somewhere.

HISTORY? Ok. I mean that’s a little stretch.

Who would be some of the greatest college baseball players of all time?

If say Crews is in there who else?

I’ll do one -
Will Clark

I’m just trying a name that would be considered an All Time great college player.
I said Will Clark because I don’t want rattle off a bunch of Tigers for lack of knowledge of other greats on other teams not on LSU.
Will Clark I do remember though

Crazy to think that in mid-April, a player can go 3 for 7 on the weekend and it actually lowers his season batting average.

He just needs to head straight to first from the dugout

I still can't get over the fact they intentionally walked Crews to load the bases against Tommy White. That was completely shocking.

The covid draft of only five rounds sent a lot of prospects from that class to college
Many lost a season of scouts seeing them because of covid

If he’s the best in LSU history, it’s pretty reasonable to consider he’s up there nationally.

Why?

If LSU is in game 3 of a Super Regional in the bottom of the 8th with the game tying run on second base, who do you want at the plate, Dylan Crews or Tommy White?

Walk Crews and you only have to get one of them out. Pitch to Crews and you have to get him out, and then White out after that. In that game with UK, White was 0 for 4 and had hit into a double play.

I’m not saying I’m ever disappointed when White comes up with runners on base, just that I understand the move. They showed you that in his first at bat of the weekend that they were not going to let Crews beat them this weekend.

So you’re throwing out Roger Clemens, Stephen Strasburg, Pete Incaviglia, Bo Jackson, Prime, Lou Brock, Jackie Robinson, I can go on and on and on.

If you want to say at LSU, then that’s a fair comment. It will be for nothing if he doesn’t bring a trophy home.

The best season I ever saw was Khalil Greene’s senior year at Clemson.

quote:

Greene was named winner of the Dick Howser Trophy, the Rotary Smith Award, and the Golden Spikes Award at the end of the season. He hit .480 with 26 home runs and 30 doubles with a .557 on-base percentage and .888 slugging percentage (for an OPS of 1.445). In only one of the team's 67 games did he not reach base via walk or hit.

Crews’ OPS is presently higher at 1.490
His on base % is at .648. That’s absurd. His slugging % is a bit lower, .842. But who cares. He’s hitting .500 in the middle of April. Unreal.

There were two outs not 1. A single does not guarantee a run scores there. By walking Crews intentionally you guarantee a run scores with a single, walk, or HBP. That situation was not a good situation to intentionally walk Crews. When they did it earlier in the game to setup the double play I agreed with that. Not in the 8th with 2 outs.

Tommy White needs to be a little more patient at bat, too. Does us no good to have Crews on base if we chase a DP.

Please take a look at White’s RBI numbers then will all due respect shut up.
