Regardless of his results in Omaha, I don’t think it can be argued that he is not a damn good college baseball coach. He’s just currently stuck in the tier of Ron Polk and Mike Martin.

Like tiger stadium, the mystique of LSU baseball is undeniable. Especially for those that remembered the old Box.

you don’t know DVH then. This will leave him as hungry as ever. He’s gonna be balls deep recruiting the portal tomorrow before his coffee is done brewing

He didn’t fall off… his stud SS made a poor decision and his left fielder bounced one off his head ??

Hard to win title. I think he gets one. He’s got 5 or 6 more years.

SEC team wins most years

Rather he get one than Texas or Aggies or now even Georgia.

If DVH retires after this season I would be completely shocked. I would expect him to Coach next season with the sophomores he has coming back. They are still going to have an excellent team. I would expect him to Coach 1-3 more years.

Pretty sure the MSB convinced themselves Kelvin Sampson was retiring at UH after the close loss to Florida in the basketball natty.

These guys are old, but still coaching at an elite level and surrounded by good staffs. They’re also hungry for that title at two schools starved for 1 in that particular sport.

Van Horn will shake it off just like 2018. They’ll be back and damn good like they usually are.

He's putting some of his best teams together right now. Why would he?

DVH didn’t make the throw to third. DVH didn’t misread the ball to lf, and he didn’t whiff on the catch at second. Although I’m not sure if too many players even get a glove on that hit.

Arky meeting at mound, DVH didn't seem to address the defensive plan for the inning, or didn't have the correct one.

Van Horn did not lose that game on Wednesday.

Never has had what it takes to get over the hump and never will.

That’s unfair. The guy had his team in position to win it all by catching a routine popup in foul territory. At that point the coach has done what is necessary, and the kids have to make a play.

I didn’t say he did.

The implication is that his teams tend to tighten up and choke when it counts the most. At some point, Arkansas is going to get tired of that, and fairly or unfairly, he’s likely to be the scapegoat.

All the assholes in this thread shite-talking DVH. He's a great coach. Even Martin at FSU had some tough times in Omaha.
