Duce Chestnut to LSU

Oh boy what a nice land. LSU is cleaning the portal out. Watch out SEC.

I can't believe Slowflowpro was trying to argue this team can't make a run at the playoffs next year when they were right the cusp of it this year in a rebuild year. They are killing it in recruiting and the portal.

Chestnut is a huge land. This gives LSU 2 of the top 5 CBs from the portal. If they land Johnson that's another blue chip CB with tons of potential and Alexander who can possibly translate big to the next level. So they have 2 potential high ends and 2 guys with that were the top in the portal. That's not including if Banks comes back and if Welch lives up to his potential. Nice problems to have.

Clearly not done yet is the scary thing.

This is a good pickup but IMO there’s still not the depth you need to make the playoff out of the SEC. Right now you’re looking at splitting Florida State/Bama and taking 2/3 from Florida, Auburn, and A&M.

Even if you sweep the home slate you’ll have Georgia again in Atlanta. So you’re looking at likely a 10 or 11 and 2 type year next year.

Another step in the right direction and you’re in the national mix but just outside the playoff with that schedule IMO. The SEC is as deep as it’s ever been.

Now come 2024 and the 12 team playoff yeah LSU should expect to be in.
