Drew trying to leave for the second time. What a teammate!

Here’s to you, DB.

I can't blame him as he wants to play.

I appreciate that he played his heart out when he was on the field.

Drew is a good utility fielder, his bat just doesn’t play at this level and I’m not sure if it’s a bat that you can afford to put in the everyday lineup , which is what he needs to develop that bat.

Kind of a bad situation for him

He would get put in at different positions and we would always worry about him in the field at different positions. Like, “are we sure he can handle 2nd or center”?

Then he would just be solid as hell and make incredible plays in the outfield especially. Just can’t put that bat in the everyday lineup

He is a good utility fielder. He’s not a bad player, he just doesn’t hit well and never got the chance to develop because of lack of abs .

When he started 2020 batting 0.070 for the first 10 games, that’s wasn’t lack of ABs.

Should have played for his dad. He would have won a national championship instead of going to LSU and not winning one.

How many abs did he get this year? For his career at lsu he didn’t get a bunch of abs . When he did start playing daily then he was one of our best players in the regional vs Oregon.

I doubt his ceiling is much when it comes to hitting but I don’t think he would be batting .120 on a team where he would have the chance to start every game.

We just have too much talent and don’t have time to let a bad hitter play everyday to get in a rythem.
I think he could handle the field as an everyday starter but his bat just doesn’t play

He had two good games. Even when you think he was good it was just two out of 7 games. He went 0fer 4 times in that stretch. Stop making him out into a player he never was.

It’s a good move for him though , no chance he would even sniff the field next year without a ton of injuries.

The way it’s looking now, the only guys from last year that are 100% gonna start are Morgan crews and pearson

Is this the place where we rag on the guy looking for a greener pasture, but we don't rag on the handful of quality guys who just left their teams for us?
