I'm not saying he does or doesn't know anything, but you realize if he posts something that is a rumor, given the circumstances, his post will be deleted and him possibly get banned. This isn't posting a rumor about something rather benign. This would be posting a rumor about an ongoing criminal investigation. If I knew something, I wouldn't be posting the details either until they became public
Its that, and respect to the alleged victim

I can only post that what I know, and it is absolutely more than has been posted here, would be very big news

It doesn't impact any of the football coaches nor the football team outside of Davis directly. That I can say which I know is what people are wondering

Well him being gone isn’t some earth shattering news. The kid has four catches in his career. If it doesn’t take out Ed O it’s really just another stupid kid doing something extremely stupid. Davis can go to jail and the rant won’t care next week.

I’m thinking the news might be that the accuser is another LSU athlete.

These two things kinda contradict themselves. It will take more than losing an overhyped WR from a team that was probably gonna lose a few WRs to attrition soon anyway to make the board "explode."

Hell, you've got heartshapedbox over here rooting for Maryland 2.0 just cause it might mean Orgeron and Alleva get fired. If this bombshell is that Drake actually beat a woman, then I don't think too many people will lose sleep over him being booted.

Nah it would be much better to have it be from off the field issues.

This would probably let us clean house on leadership which LSU desperately needs. Then we don’t have to pay O.

You also get Dave thrown in as a baptism by fire and if it doesn’t work we are free to hire anyone we want check book is open.

So you would much rather it be a scandal vs Ed O going 6-6. It cost a lot less and it shakes up leadership more

Wow. You are crazy if you really are hoping that a domestic abuse scandal is the catalyst for blowing up the athletic department. First of all, there is possibly a real person was the victim of abuse, so you're basically hoping that the university knew about the abuse of this PERSON and attempted to cover it up, which is heartbreaking to think about.

Second, a scandal big enough to take down the entire leadership at LSU would take many years to recover from, if a full recovery is even possible. Will anyone ever look at Baylor the same again? How long will it take before they are even remotely competitive again?

Baylor was rape and murder.

I feel bad for the girl if Davis did beat her.

If Ed O knew and swept it he would probably be fired.

we definitely run in some of the same circles...

folks.... just look at the fact that University leadership has not uttered a syllable about this.

If a fraternity guy had done the same thing to a sorority girl - the press con would have happened all ready..

or if the university leadership has said something - I certainly missed it..

Murder? You're talking about something that happened in 2003? That's not what brought down Baylor. It was that the athletic department covered up sexual assault allegations and actively persuaded the investigations of those claims.

Something big enough to force the university to clean house on leadership, would definitely have to be something similar to Baylor. "Orgeron knew and he swept it under the rug" would not be big enough.

I heard this morning on OTB that the AG is still investigating this even though she retracted her statement.

You don't seem to be acknowledging that "enough to fire O" is in the huge gray area between "would not destroy LSU athletics as we know it" and "would destroy LSU athletics as we know it."

I don’t believe O knew and swept under rug.

No one in this environment is that dumb.

Standing there, at the front of the student section, roaring and cheering with the rest of the Tiger faithful: Ben Simmons. And he nodded at me, and I nodded at him. And then he pointed up at the crowd — like they were some wild orchestra he was conducting with his seven-foot wingspan — and shouted, “Drake! You know you want to be here. You know!”

Since then, Ben and I have become pretty good friends. And as I marvel at all that he’s accomplishing on the basketball court this season, I’m also taking notes. And the most important note, so far, has been this: It’s never too early to make an impact.

Remember how well-written that article was? Never thought his LSU career would end up this way.

It would definitely add another layer to the story especially if it was a well known female athlete.

I'm responding to someone who said they wanted this to force the university to "clean house on leadership".
