Don’t worry everyone Ryan Clark is here to clear things up!

(And doesn’t actually say anything)
From his Twitter:
Before the rumor mill runs wild, or things get taken out of context, hoping to provide some clarity- The Daniels’ camp understands that the No. 5 jersey is not retired at LSU, nor have they ever asked for it to be. The cease-and-desist is not about the number itself or about DJ Pickett. It is about respect—and the process by which that number was ultimately given out.
For those attempting to make this about Jayden and Joe Burrow, that narrative is simply not accurate. This is about respecting and honoring a young man who brought the program its third Heisman Trophy and represented LSU with distinction.
I’ve spoken with people on both sides about this situation, & I’ll add this. I love this young man, and I love my school. My hope is that this situation can be resolved in a respectful manner that honors everyone involved and, most importantly, recognizes what Jayden Daniels accomplished for LSU.
Now, Jayden wants to focus on the excitement around the team, how well camp is going & winning games for the Commanders

You sure Ryan Clark said that? I’ve been listening to ESPN all morning and I haven’t heard him say a thing.

This is the equivalent of calling up ja rule for his thoughts on the current political climate

Dear Jayden,
You are not bigger than LSU. All the best to you as a professional athlete that made millions of dollars off of your abilities and the exposure LSU gave you. You are a professional athlete. Act like it and stop expecting to be coddled, bowed down to, and feeling like you ego has been bruised.

Well it has had the opposite effect. People have lost all respect for Daniels.

Only this generation would even think this was something to be offended about. Everything after GenX is a shite show. Ya got no freaking idea on how to handle matters and make matters out of things that don't matter.

Was that Dave Chappelle who made that joke?

So, is he trying to change the way that LSU distributes jersey numbers to it's players? Does he realize that there are over 100 players on the roster and only 100 eligible numbes to put on a jersey? What the hell does this quote even mean? What is Ryan going on about?

I find it hilarious he's trying to act like some neutral third party while literally putting out a prepared statement acting as Jayden's spokesman
What a fricking loser this guy is

quote:I do think that RC is correct that this is where Jayden is coming from. It does not make Jayden any less wrong about the way he has handled this.

He completely blew this thing up to the point where one of the most beloved players in this programs history has immediately become hated by a considerable portion of the fanbase. Why do that? Even if he feels the way that he feels about the jersey #, he could have handled this with class and said that he wishes for the #5 to be officially retired one day, that he's disappointed in the decision, whatever. Most of us would have disagreed with him, but there would certainly not have been a major uproar from not only LSU fans, but really the entirety of CFB fans. He simply made an arse out of himself today, and that's so disappointing.

Can he clear up why he turned the entire program against Coach O?
Posted on 8/13/26 at 12:22 pm to whichyalnoaboutseven
No one cares what you have to say RC, now get back in the unemployment line before you lose your place!

Clark is such a blowhard.
Jayden was already well respected.
He burnt that down.
