If they arent going to run "the offense" id rather they just fricking sit Burrow anyway and get Brennan some experience before they burn his redshirt.

Id prefer they open the playbook and work on as much as they can but if not, I don't see the sense in risking Burrow and giving him reps in an offense he won't be running when it'c critical anyway.

Got no issues with this unless we keep ranking last in CFB in the offensive stats.

I personally think it’s hilarious how good we are with such a poor offense. It’s gotta be giving the media fits. “How the hell?!”

Yea yea, we know. That's how you and the rest of the madden jockeys do it in your mom's basement.
i have to be a madden jockey to want our team to blow out inferior teams? Good lord, what is it with this board?

And by the way, I'm 54 and haven't played Madden in my entire life. And I own my own basement.

No you haven't! You've seen one offense grow and evolve!

Umm, no. You've see a completely different base offense between Auburn and SLU/Miami.

Gosh why so much negative reaction? We are 3-0 and ranked 6 in the nation and you are worried about formations? I trust this staff they know more than anyone on this board

This is not a "pushover" game...and I promise the staff is not treating it as such.

Teams can still be very unpredictable and multiple out of the I formation

The I Formation is very effective if you get the defense to over-play the running game. This is where Miles failed. You will typically have two receivers in single coverage, exploiting that is absolutely critical.

Per Ed O in his PC. Sounded pretty pissed when one of the media members brought it up.

Do not want. Hopefully it’s just a small package to help spring some running backs free.

I was wondering what package he was going to add. i think he wants to find a way to get the other back going to open up the play action game.

They should use this game as a glorified practice and get their routes and timing down - they will need the experience later in the season.
treating any game like a glorified practice has shown to be a giant disaster in the past.

How about we let the coaches coach and understand that 87% of what they tell the media is bullshite. The more successful coaches up it to 98%

Agreed.

These girls are more worried about offensive rankings, blowouts and style points than about just winning. I swear some LSU fans would rather watch LSU have a #1 ranked Saints/Drew Brees type offense and lose games than watch LSU just win.

I don't care if LSU beats Tech 2-0, just as long as LSU beats Tech.

no, we're worried about having an offense good enough to give us a shot to win against Bama, UGA, Miss State, etc. What we've seen thus far was good enough to get us to 3-0, but the meat of our schedule remains. If we can't roll up 500 yards and score 40+ against SELU or La Tech, it makes me nervous when UGA and Bama come to town.

Just because 'we' didn't/don't, doesn't mean 'we' can't.

Stop worrying about games that are weeks away. Tech is a solid program, LSU just needs to do what it takes to win THIS game. If the coaches are watching film of Tech and thinking the best way to win the game is a power-I base form, then I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt - especially in light of the game plans they've come up with so far.

Don't worry, be happy. Be entertained by the game this weekend, and worry about Bama during the bye week when we'll have MUCH more information on what this offense can do.
