He has been hitting the ball pretty good. Just right at someone.

It's crazy what reps can do.

People want to attribute losing to this intangible buzzword called "leadership". Losing cause there is not enough "leadership"...

No, sorry. Just not enough production top to bottom. Several of these guys need reps. It was unexpected, but there is still time to bite the bullet & be ready to make a run in a few weeks.

The pitching is more concerning than the lineup. The lineup is pretty close to expected going into the season. The pitching staff on the other hand was expected to be much better than they have shown. Need some of those guys like Hurd, Ack, Loer, and Guidry to get it together and then guys like Moffett, Cam, and Kade Anderson to step up for us. Noot is just an extra at this point. Not sure what we will get from him going forward.

Kling has a 2-game hitting streak in SEC ball. Not just McNeese mind you.

At this point it doesn't really matter who it is against. It looked like improvement. Especially the swing he made to go opposite field gap for an easy double. That's the type of thing that brings up confidence and could possibly get him going so you take it for what it is.

Milazzo Last 9 G

2-11
6K
0BB

.181/.250/.188

And also misplaying balls defensively.

It's crazy who gets immunity for playing poorly. Anyone else would have the fan base calling to be benched. Yet he is being called to play more. It's crazy.

Brady Neal since end of the FL series:

5-18
1 HR
4 RBI
6 BB
2 HBP
4 K's

Neal is hitting .111 in SEC play Milazzo .500. Are you really talking about Milazzo misplaying balls vs Neal behind the plate? Did u watch the Vandy series. LSU needed a catcher behind Neal to keep balls from rolling to the wall.

We were in a similar place last year. We had Skenes, but our 3rd starter and key relievers kept getting hurt and Floyd, Hurd, Ack, Guidry, and even Coop were having a rough time mid-season.

Our options in the CWS were pretty limited, and we had to throw Ack out there to start and we used the hell out of Coop, Guidry, and Hurd - fortunately, they came through.

Our staff this year is more talented than it was last year. We need to make sure that we get into the tournament and hopefully the staff will gel at the right time.

Hurd needs to come around. Herring seems to be doing for us what Coop did in the second half last year. We need a third starter (like last year) and a few more guys to throw the ball over the plate.

That all fine and dandy when you had the lineup you had last season to keep the season going until the bullpen got to the point where they were gelling. This season you were expecting the pitching staff to keep them afloat while the lineup started to gel together. That's the issue.

Milazzo played 2 innings & had a passed ball himself. He has not been much of an upgrade at all defensively. And it wasn’t just that game.

And your quote above says it’s amazing what reps can do. Milazzo isn’t getting near enough reps to do anything.

Milazzo is what he is at this point. He doesn’t need reps to prove anything
