Shores has entered the late game, adrenaline junkie, 101 mph one inning assassin role for me.
This is where I’m at too, somewhat similar to Zach Hess. He’s looked electric the last 2 outings, maybe we shouldn’t mess with a good thing.

Shores makes more sense
I don't know if I want that with a team that seems to drive the ball directly into the ground, batter after batter.

Not sure if Shores is the best choice here against a team who rarely strikes out. He throws a lot of heat and has been great lately but I'd think he's a bad match up for UCLA honestly. We'll see.

No matter who we bring in the leadoff batter is likely getting on.

Does Cooper Riley have any eligibility left?

Once this restarts, you go Evans. He’s been the best you’ve had following KA and AE. You don’t concern yourself with “can he get us 6” and what-ifs. You have a 2 run lead in the marble game of the CWS. You focus on keeping UCLA at 3 runs for as long as you can.
Evans going 6 is probably not what you want since it would remove him from pitching in game 3.
I think you have to go elsewhere first to see if you can find a few innings.

Don’t forget that Skenes is at the game and hasn’t pitched since we got to Omaha.

It’s good to have lots of options

Ware and Cowan have disappeared. Feels like we haven't seen either in a month+ with the exception Cowan mentally collapsing against LR. I think he lost his trust in this bullpen and he hasn't been locating his fastball so they sit on his off speed. He needs to find it because we need him now.

Shores threw 3 less pitches than Evans. Not exactly making a difference...

If he's not you can have a quick leash and go to Evans and you still have shore available for next game.
If you burn Evans and then Shores doesn't have it next game then you're fricked.

I'm holding evans in my pocket for if it gets iffy.
Throw Williams or shores first.

Yup, looks like Cowan and Schmidt to close (like Little Rock) is the play.

Shores absolutely can't come in until the 8th inning.
Evans for as long as he's effective, even if that means all 6 innings.
