I think this has to be one of the most amazing dogpile photos I've seen in a while.

Any body else notice Micah Gibbs staggering after the dog pile? One of the trainers was attending to him. It looked like he was on the bottom of the pile and may have had the breath squeezed out of him.

Because THIS team is going to Omaha for the first time (and some for the second, I know, I know...)

Dogpile

I really don't like this practice due to the chance of injury and the fact that you haven't actually WON anything yet... Hate to be the debbie downer but I agree with the earlier poster. I really would rather NOT have MATTY OTT or any other really important player on the bottom of that pile.

The guys should dogpile on top of Pontiff, Haydell, Nicholson, and the other scrubs. That way you can still do it but not worry about someone important getting hurt..

There have been a good bit of injuries in these things--remember Lane Mestepey getting his arm/shoulder re-injured in a dogpile?

Emotions. Because it is exciting and an accomplishment regardless of how many times you go. Awesomeness. I guess you don't want them to take the lap around the Box either.

How is that the same?? Pretty sure the risk of getting hurt jogging around the stadium is pretty minimal. Just saying.

Also the jog around the stadium is a THANK YOU for the fans for supporting them all year long.

I remember that very well, but at the same time, I understand the players enthusiasm at that moment.

Have you never been to Rosenblatt Stadium? The statue in front of the main gate is of a dog pile.

Doing a dog pile is a rite of passage for going to Omaha.
