I wish I could say "oh it's just georgia southern" but hell, they could come out on fire and managed to beat Florida not too long ago.

Anyone pay attention to them?

At least they own it. For 10 years LSU has done the same thing, but we just tried to put lipstick on it.

Threw the ball 117 times total in 2018, so yes.

Different coach from when they beat Florida though.

I went to GaSo, it's not a Navy triple option, heavily modified triple option similar to the one ran at New Mexico recently....out of shotgun exclusively.

Led the country last year in turnovers lost, which is very odd for an option based offense, 0 INT and only 5 fumbles lost.

It's going to be good team, lot of people hoping to see 9-10 wins next season and potentially win Sun Belt. Won 10 games last season including bowl game.

Some highlights from bowl game last year:

They're streaky. Took UGA to OT in 2015, Alabama game was 31-21 late in 2011, and obviously beat UF. They've had some god awful seasons in between.

Yeah Florida didn’t. Neither did Alabama and they ran 300 yards on them.

They actually played a fairly tight game with Clemson last year until Clemson scored 2 TDs in the last couple minutes to win 38-7. their defense is impressive and their QB is fast as hell. triple option offense would be scary if we didn't have all summer to prepare for it.

Triple options always lead to injuries.

I know my UGA friends say they could count on losing a good player every year they played GaTech's triple option.

I think this is kind of a common misnomer about opening games. It's not a bowl game where you've gone through the season and only have 1 opponent left to worry about and everything is installed offensive/defensively.

They will only really prep folks for GaSo for the game week before (With the players/in practice). The summer and more specifically the fall is about installing your own offense/defense and filling out the depth chart before you get to real game prep. All that stuff has to be figured out before you start literally preparing on the field for an opponent.

That's not to say they wont film study and stuff. But in terms of physically prepping in practice for the game, it wont be till the week before the game like any game outside of bowl game.

I think We’d spend a little more time maybe.

It’s just. Weird offense and it’s all assignment

It's not that kind of option offense where there's a ton of cut blocking, it's shotgun based similar to New Mexico.

Didn’t they switch to a shotgun style triple option similar to Auburn a few years ago?
