Does Woodward have the marbles to take this program to the foundation?

Bringing in a new HC is a given, but does Woodward give his the keys and a stack of pink slips? Time for new staff top to bottom. Maybe, just maybe, keep Faulk and Raymond but move to off the field rolls in recruiting.

Raymond is the only one who is practically guaranteed his job.

Normal procedure is that all old staff is gone, unless new guy wants to retain somebody.
No accountability unless new HC has his own staff to surround him.
This isn't like when Orgeron came aboard and he HAD to have Aranda to maintain credibility and Orgeron has no binder-ready OC, so Ensminger had to step in and help bridge the gap.

I think if a coach doesn't specify he wants full control of his staff, Woodward will make a mental note that this is not the guy.

Any coach worth his salt wants control of his staff. As he should.

Honestly at this point if we want a home run hire we need to leave Raymond up to the next coach. If he wants him coaching DBs then he stays. I assume most would keep him regardless.

Faulk clearly needs to be back in the shadow staff role.

People have to understand what Woodward's MO is. He wants to sit back and handle all of the logistical, infrastructure and political points surrounding athletics. What he does is do everything to provide coaches the resources they need to be successful and let them run the program as they see fit. He then assesses the programs from there. It is 100% the best management style. You give coaches their own rope, they can either use it to their advantage or hang themselves with it. This is why he hasn't fired Orgeron yet, for example.

My love for Kevin Faulk is as pure as a thousand virgins....

However, if he thinks the current RB rotation is working then he needs to go. It's been all over the freaking place.

No IN DEMAND coach is going to go to a place where the AD mandates he keeps certain members of the staff. Now, a smart coach will probably look at the former staff (not just coaching staff) to see if there are good pieces he wants to keep, but he's going to agree to being forced to keep any of them.

The LSU program wasn't broken when Les was fired. It just wasn't reaching its full potential because the HC was stubborn and refused to make the final changes in his approach to get it to the top again. For his part, O had ZERO demand nationally. He knew if he wanted any shot at the permanent job he had to put together a sales pitch as to why he should be the HC. That sales pitch was to keep all of the good aspects of the program in place while making the necessary changes in the areas that were holding the program back (namely the OC and overall offensive approach)

I know the O-Line has been awful, but I'd be OK if the next coach wants to give Brad Davis some time to recruit and build a line.

Let the new head coach decide who he wants to keep. If he wants to keep Raymond, so be it. If he wants to cut him loose, so be it. The LSU football program will survive and probably succeed whether Corey Raymond stays or goes. No assistant coach is bigger than the program.

You keep Raymond and I don't think there is a coach in the country that would demand he be replaced.

Why keep Faulk? What has he done?

Exactly, I’m a huge Faulk guy. He is the one most impactful person that really shaped our golden era by laying the foundation for what was to come by staying home. He should always be a part of the school, just probably not in charge of rotation of backs.

Faulk was a back with great vision, power, and obviously Stamina ! What a NFL run ! This doesn't mean you ca teach what God gave you as an individual. In saying that, can he coach, who decides who plays KF, O I don't know but what happened to his child sucks and I hope he can do whatever he wants in the rest of his life
