I believe he can get year 5 under the 5 for 5 rule.

Would he stay? Who knows.
I imagine his tape and injuries lend him to a 3-6 rd draft pick.
Maybe he loves Landry and Lane enough to want to try it one last time, but I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to move on after 4 years here.

I believe that even without the 5-for-5 rule he'd be able to argue and be granted a medical redshirt.

If he comes back and gets injured again, his chances at the nfl are probably gone. Which is a tough pill to swallow as a fan. Love the guy and he is one of my favorite Tigers, but I can’t imagine a world where he comes back for a 5th season

ILB isn't seen as a "premium" position in the NFL draft. If he were to get picked in the middle of the 2nd round (which is probably his absolute ceiling) he would make about $1.3M next year. Obviously, that number gets lower if he goes later.
If he were to return to LSU he would likely make at least that much next season (if not more). Plus, he has a true NIL market in BR as one of the faces of the team. That won't be the case as a non-descript 3rd round pick in large city.
Financially, it may may more sense to return to LSU

He is far more valued and beloved in BTR than any NFL franchise so if we are talking about 1 years earning potential then yeah LSU is likely the obvious choice.
But it’s if he wants to stay rather than move on and close a chapter. That call to take a shot at the NFL is strong and I wouldn’t blame him at all if that’s his choice.

This board has 0 idea how to evaluate players. 90% of this board thought Nuss was a 1st round pick.

He is now under the 5 for 5 Rule... but with his injury history, he's better off going to the NFL if he can come back for a few games this season.

Yes, he has another year. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that we would leave if he stayed healthy.
With this injury, his draft stock will take a hit due to questions about his ability to stay healthy. He will still get drafted but I see it being a later round pick. It starts his clock to a second contract which is where the real money is in the NFL.
He could stay and prove he can stay healthy for full season and get drafted in the first couple rounds and make his initial contract more valuable. He would also likely make more at LSU next year than he would as a 4th round pick.

He does have another year. Whether he will use it or not is the question.
