Does Wade have a final four roster even without Miller?

Or is this a sweet 16 ceiling type of team?

They looked great. But can we at least see how we stack up against a semi-decent talented team?

I think we have a superb group of ballers tho!

If we have any holes it will be confident ball handling to collapse defenses. I think we still have an E8 type team

Let’s wait until some competition comes

One thing about this team tho.. I didn’t notice any selfish play, no walking around. They all brought energy and hustle, which is important

Too bad we'll have to wait until January to play a team with as much talent

We're 1 game in at this point, nobody can really say for sure.

I will say I doubt this is a final four team without Williams or O'Neal getting healthy. Ultimately we need 1 or 2 more guys to really step up and I think it's going to come from them over a big leap from say Colbert/Ezewiro. Probably Williams more specifically with how light we are at guard losing Miller.

We just have zero depth at guard right now with only 3 guys playing there.

What Pinson did to that poor bastard in the 2nd half last night makes we think it's gonna be OK.

I know Wade has his reasons for making the schedule how it is. That being said, even a school with no basketball history in Alabama plays multiple top 25 power 5 schools in pre conference. It seems like a lot of the top tier SEC schools outside of us do.

Is there a particular reason for this?

Not even close, he just literally hasnt been healthy since high school basically. I'm not saying he's starter quality but he would be in front of Fudge for sure in the rotation if he was healthy.

Bigger issue is still only having 3 guards right now.

Wade is a master at schedule manipulation.
A lot of these games don’t catch the eye but show up big on net rankings. With our first 7 games of conference being a grinder you don’t necessarily need the marquee ooc. Wish the GA. tech was a little better, and the big 12 opponent was better

Imo this is a team that will be similar to those Bob Huggins WVA teams we’ve seen the past couple of years. We are going to make it a pain to score and get a lot of points in transition.

We are going to be able to play with and beat anyone on any given night, but the thing Im worried about is getting a bucket in close games when it matters.

As good as Days looked last night I dont think he can create for himself against a longer athletic wing we will run up against in conference play and the tournament. A lot of pressure is going to be on Pinson to create for himself and others late in games. This is where Miller being out hurts, he was going to be our lead ball handler and probably leading scorer.

I think we should have enough spacing to overcome not having a certified bucket, but as we all know anything can happen come March

At the end of the season these are going to probably be all quad 2 games. We go into the tournament with a with around 15 quad 2 wins and we will look great to the selection comittee.

They can make a run and I LOVED what I saw last night but I’ll say this.

I watched the Kentucky/Duke game last night after ours, those teams have lots of talent, definitely more NBA type guys on those rosters.

Now we all know with teams like that it doesn’t always come together and create a great team. But from a strictly player talent aspect those top teams are more talented.

Our outside shooting is gonna fail us from time-to-time UNLESS DD can score 30 points most games.

IF they play defense with the intensity of last night it will cover a lot of warts. DD will not go 8/9 from Three's
but Defense can always be hot.

This narrative that is slowly forming and I've seen repeated on here a few times is really really fricking stupid

I'm not one way or another with this team yet. I loved what they did last night but I still want to see how they progress as the competition rises. Do I think they can be a really good team? Absolutely. I want to see who's going to close out games for them, though. Who's going to be the guy that gets buckets when it's tight late in the 2nd half? Who's going to get the stops? It could very well be a few people but that's what I want to see. Can they grind out teams with equal or more talent?
