does this sum it up for you about Kelly?

I give him credit. He does some good things on running a program. He knows some football. But he baffles me with so many goofy decisions. the last straw is the qb issue. I don't think he is shooting straight with the information he is giving. Why? I don't know. all I know is I don't trust him anymore. Not to lead this team to a championship, or even get into the playoffs. He has time to change my mind, and I sincerely hope he does.

I think we all knew that, though

He’ll have had two weeks to make adjustments. So let’s see exactly how good of a coach he is. And I don’t want to hear anything about lack of talent.

Will last year count in this respect?

He’s had a month to make adjustments, and he hasn’t. But rather than admit that there are issues on offense (either publicly or apparently internally) and make adjustments, he elected instead to act all bitchy and double down on an ineffective offense. Then he refused to make obviously necessary in game adjustments which costs us a huge game against an SEC rival.

For someone who preaches the process, he’s always missing something. One year it’s special teams, next it’s D , now it’s offense. Can never seem to put it together.

All I know is that a lot of my friends and acquaintances that supported him are now questioning his ability to hire coaches, communicate honestly, and take LSU to a championship.
I was a big supporter of hiring him at the time and have remained supportive. But I am now questioning a lot about this program as it is now.
The next three weeks will reveal a lot.

Next three weeks are huge for BK. Going 3-0 in October is critical. 2-1 leaves you a path but then you’d have to be perfect in November. 1-2 or 0-3 in October and then you need to have a different conversation because season over before November with more losses to come. How is BK going to convince anyone he’s still cut out for the job? Need to do another staff overhaul? That could be a hard sell. In my opinion he should retire and go out honorably if we go 7-5 or worse. Either that or go into next season with a lesser roster, more difficult schedule, and be fired after an embarrassing final season. If he wants the buyout badly enough, he may not care about the shame and embarrassment that would bring to his coaching resume.

Glad someone mentioned this because it’s the only thing OP leaves out.
I don’t trust that he’s not just consulting the court of public opinion on coaching hires. If he knew what he wanted, we would’ve never gotten house or Sloan & he would’ve made an attempt to keep Raymond/Baker around the first time.
I gave him a lot of grace early on, but you are allowed one catastrophic frickup. Two in four years is sus.

Don't see a bk team making playoffs. Too soft for sec

He’s not as aligned as I thought he would be.
Goofy or uncoordinated is the right word.
I care zero about him not being likable. I don’t really care if the coach is likable I want him to win and I want him to be a technician of the game and that’s where he should be able to earn his $10 million a year. But he might be goofy and uncoordinated.

In is decision making on building a staffs for sure.
The only competent decision he has made was when dealing with Woody.
Woody appears to be just one level below Kelly in competent spending of other folks money.

Kelly is who some thought he was. A soft coach that wins most games he should and can’t win if the talent level is close. He has a loosing record against top 25 teams.

I have been a kelly supporter since he came in and took over a s**t show and beat Bama and went to the SECCG his first year. You can't do that if you don't know what the hell you are doing and he has done that at 3 other programs previously. The criticism that he fired a defensive staff that was 11-11 and lost by 22 in their bowl game was beyond stupid. Any other coach would have done the same thing and it was House as DC that got us to the SECCG. That being said I have no idea what happened in 2023 with House and the defense. It was very obvious after the bowl game that the defensive players did not like him. Kelly made a great move bringing that defensive staff back that gained experience and maybe got renewed energy coming back but he also rolled the dice with Sloan as OC which I don't think was the right decision. And Bo Davis has worn out his welcome. I said this was Kelly's show me year and so far I'm not impressed. Nuss's injury played a part but there is no excuse for not being able to run the football. He has 2 weeks to fix this but if he misses the playoffs this year the pitchforks will come out and rightly so. He ain't going anywhere but if we get a repeat next year I can see the money guys getting together and buying him out.

It really just boils down to the South Carolina game.
If the offense looks the same, then there’s nothing else to be revealed, we will lose 3 or more additional games.

This is what sums it up for me:
In his first season there was an online interview segment done by one of his Notre Dame players that was trying to make a name for himself doing online football all coverage (BK probably doing him a favor).
Anyway, in the video BK said something about being more of a CEO at this stage in his career and that was a red flag to me. All he’s shown since then in a guy who wants to delegate and doesn’t have a real connection or feel for his team. Even the little videos that get released of him addressing the team seem forced and wooden to me.
I’ve tried before to find that video but no dice. Wish I knew the name of the guy who did the interview.

7-5 is nearly assured or worse.
