Does LSU want this to happen?

Is it possible that LSU is pushing the buttons, because of the "equity" fund raising that would land an unshared streaming deal that would benefit LSU more than SEC affiliation?
Just a hypothesis?

I don't think they want it to happen but i also don't think they are worried about the repercussions of it happening. With netflix sniffing around live sports, it could very well be a financial windfall.

No LSU doesn't want this to happen, but LSU doesn't need the SEC to survive. There are other avenues to keep on keeping on.

Almost as soon as this expulsion story broke, LSU Football posted this:

My only question is does LSU go after the big legacy networks to sign a TV deal with or do they get innovative and entertain offers from Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, etc.
Think about the brand and what this could do long term

The lack of response from the leadership at LSU speaks louder than words. If they were worried, I think you would hear more from them. Either they are calling the SECs bluff, or don't care if they are members of the SEC.
At this point, if nobody wants us in the SEC, I don't want LSU in the SEC. Move on.
SECede

This is the beginning of the end of the SEC. Well maybe 3 years ago when the Big 10 started owning college football.
But this is definitely the nail in the coffin and LSU might be jumping off a sinking ship here.

LSU has released one statement. They were respectful and stated they would discuss internally and with the SEC. The SEC has continued to further this fight when LSU was not and is not part of the lawsuit for the players. LSU obviously doesn't want it to happen but I believe based on some of the rumblings that LSU expected a lot of this to happen and they have plans in place.
And with how the other conference members have personnel calling for SEC to expel us I am just ready for some things to be finalized and we can move on. One way or the other.

SEC is mad that we didn't issue a formal statement saying we would honor the SEC's rules and back down. They expected everyone to fall in line and when LSU didn't state anything and let the players lawsuit play itself out Sankey got mad. Rumor has it Sankey reached out to Clemson to issue the breach of contract....which is insane.
