I hope lik hell he wins another just to stick it to y'all. And I hope Hal Hughes delivers a walkoff as icing on top.

Mediocrity? The average college baseball team has had as many Omaha appearances and tournament games as LSU during PM’s time?

And here’s the problem. We have to compare ourselves to AVERAGE programs to try to defend our coach.

We won't win another one under CPM. He isn't going to adapt and change. We will be "in the hunt", but that's it. We will also continue to lose in big games for the same reasons we've lost them since 2009.

Eddie O HAS changed and adapted. So, football would likely do it.

It doesn't fit their Paul Mainieri is Les Miles narrative.

Our fans cant help but compare every coach, regardless of sport to Les or O. Its frustrating to watch

so you think O is about to go on a Saban-esque run?

i mean i’d love that to happen, but there is a reason Nick is literally the only guy in over a generation to pull of a string like he did.

It’s incredibly difficult to do. Even the absolute best don’t get to that kind of level.

We compared CPM to Les after 2013. But then we made the championship series in 2017, so we'd better compare him to Les for losing the championship after that.

I’d bet anyone stupid enough to take the bet, any amount of money they’re willing to put up, that baseball reaches seven before football.

We are LSU! You know the measuring stick of college baseball. Anything less is not acceptable

And in the last 7 years, list how LSU has been eliminated from the playoffs, who has eliminated them, and more specifically, HOW they were eliminated.

Paul, IMO, has become Les Miles in the fact that he keeps losing games the EXACT SAME WAY, yet keeps on keeping on.

The standards were set for baseball years ago and CPM hasn't met them. One title in 11 years just don't cut it at a program like LSu. I will say this though. The whole college baseball landscape has changed. But we are still LSU and should have more than one title since 2009.

No, simply due to the fact that O doesn't have the external forces helping him.

For example, I don't see O getting mulligans like Saban, nor do I see an LSU alum in charge of SEC officiating.

O will obviously do well, but Saban has benefits only one or two other coaches have.

Baseball is much harder to do.

You run into great pitching in first two and you are over.

Every team in the tournament has a #1 capable of smoke or amazing curve and change up.
If the rotation puts you up against 3 #2s you win.
If you go against 3 #1s, bye bye often as not.

Baseball will continue to hang in the mediocrity level

We're not on the mediocre level now and haven't been for 30 years. A down year here and there doesn't bring your program to a mediocre level. We are still a top 5 baseball program.
