Agree, the decision will be made on possibility not probability. They will not want to take a chance that the game would have to be cancelled.

Regardless of the impact on Gainesville proper, there will be an impact on the entire east coast of FL, which will pull all kinds of emergency crews away from Gainesville. Fire departments, utility services, tree cutters, EMTs will all be assisting other counties. Add to that, a few million people looking for hotels in Gainesville, Orlando, and Tallahassee.

We were on the West side of Katrina. Things could get ugly on the east coast of FL.

And one of the models (GFDL) looks particularly gruesome.

Worth noting: Unlike last year, the Superdome is available.

It seems having it at Tiger Stadium would be more economical and feasible for UF...
maybe not?

So is Tiger Stadium. I don't see the benefit of making both teams travel on short notice?

We were already traveling, so it wouldn't be short notice...

Certainly more hotel rooms available in New Orleans than Baton Rouge

It might be easier for officials to put the game on at the Dome rather than the mad scramble like last year. We know it CAN be done in Baton Rouge but the schematics of New Orleans might make it easier. Just spit-balling.

Who pays the Superdome for use?

At Tiger Stadium no one has to pay rent.

Some of the latest models don't look good at all. I think the possibility of a cancellation/postponement is about to enter the discussion.

The European model has it on land right on top of frickin Gainesville at 10am Friday morning...the GFS has it just off shore due east of Gainesville at the same time. If these models are projecting the same course at noon tomorrow, the game will be moved.
