I like most people here don't have a clue if he is a good bad horrible or great coach. Bunch of parrots repeating what they heard.
I do believe that we load up on skill players each year and seem to only get the bare minimum linemen recruits. Games are usually won or lost in the trenches and seasons are ALWAYS made of lost in the trenches. Give me some more lineman.
I will defer to Miles on who is the assistant coaches.

4 and 5 star recruits on your starting OL qualifies as :
Its not a talent issue.

Stuck with him another year?

Of course not. Contracts are made to be broken.

So the answer is yes.. He got a 200k raise to be the OC and it was never reduced to the level of other position coaches. But he doesn't get a raise next year??

Dude, we are stacked with O-line talent.

So stud makes 25k more than Mario Cristobal.

Everyone can see it except him and Stud is the reason we've lost inroads in North Louisiana lately.
So we lost one olinemen from north la. I'm trying to figure out how coach stud is responsible for these supposed in roads we lost. If he does recruit north la, well then he pulled white and brandon Harris. Two highly sought after recruits. Just cus we don't here other schools offer him a job doesn't mean there hasn't been. How many times have you sat down with his agent to discuss this? The online could be better, but we have zero srs. I see them as being able to get better whether we lose Collins or not. They did one hell of a job last season considering what we lost and that he was also the oc.

We lost a bit more than one lineman.
Btw SE recruited white and Harris too.

We recruit 4-5 lineman almost every year. The majority are highly touted oline too. He's been here almost what, 6 years? I think we can draw conclusions on if he's a good enough coach or not by the results on the field. How many olines has he coached that have been mediocre? How many lineman has he sent to the NFL? When you hear players saying he's not a good coach then it makes believe it because you don't see the results on the field. I'm surprised Collins isn't even good enough to be a 1st round pick. How can you not develop that kind of talent?

quote:3 INTs and giving up 525yds on 85 plays beat LSU, not DE.
So why do we get beat by walk on DE's at Ole Miss?
Posted on 12/2/13 at 6:47 pm to Mayhawman
Oh c'mon we expected our d to give up those yards. The ole miss depleted defense was not supposed to stop our offense and hold our offense to ZERO points in the first half. 114 yards rushing against walk ons and 2nd and 3rd team talent on defense is horrific on your OL performance. Not to mention ZM was sacked 3 times. Defense didn't lose that game. zero points in a half did. 24 points against a defense with 8 starters out lost the game.

I'd replace him with Ben Wilkerson.

Around 5th SEC in rushing and passing is far from the horrid pic you paint.
37ppg was enough to win SEC with a more seasoned D. It was done a couple years ago.

You're talking about Curly Fine?
It was Curly Howard, not Fine. Larry used the last name "Fine". Actually, their real names:
Curly = Jerome Lester Horwitz
Larry = Louis Feinberg
Probably the most valuable information you've consumed all day.
