I grew up in Louisiana and am not "used to it" when I go back down there.

No one is "used to" or "immune" to heat...but I think what they are saying is that these guys haven't lived in Boone their entire lives or anything and they are from places where it gets hot. They know exactly what it's like to play in similar conditions, especially if they played in high school.

It was so hot in Shreveport today. Let's hope the Freak Show Hurricane breaks, and we get this game off. Frick the weather.

Who cares, the weather won't matter. Like Ivan Drago said to Rocky, "I will crush you!"

Only a couple of you guys in here even have a clue ... great post Bundy!

They'll be putting iv's in the boys from Boone all afternoon.

Seriously ... you apphole knuckleheads and foshizzle & a couple other of our guys ... you have no clue

94F with 70% humidity above the field and worse on the field, to the point of being unbearable. The poor poor Appholes will drop like flies from heat exhaustion and cramps.

Big fans, buckets of ice and water and even an acre of wet towels / ice packs will help but it won't prevent a savage back-bayou azz whippin from happening on that field.

I pity the poor Apphole fools.

I pity the guys who think that only the LSU football team know what hot and humid feels like, and they are the only men on earth that can withstand such conditions........

Save your pity fool ... AND KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN & WATCH ... that's all we ask

ESPN has some great sideline coverage.

They'll show:
A) Your boys doubled over "dry heaving"
B) Your boys with iv needles stuck in their arms

Just watch ... apphole!

LSU will be substituting 50 players all game long in one huge "conga line"

You'll count about 10 or more plays stopped due to heat injuries ... Just watch!

Go talk to one of your old Hillbilly uncles that was in the NAM ... he'll fix your little red wagon and set you straight

Do answer the question in this thread's headline... Yes ASU has a humidity generator. ASU has an indoor practice facility that is climate controlled. I've spoken to several of the players and they have all said that they are training in very hot sweltering conditions.

Remember that our strength and conditioning coach worked for LSU and understands what the players will be facing in BR.

Combine this with the fact that we are 3,333 ft. above sea-level and I predict that ASU will not suffer as badly as the LSU faithful would like.

They will be on fresh legs, fully hydrated before they even leave for BR, accustomed to working in high temperatures and humidity and have a great game plan to combat dehydration as the game progresses. I know you all think that we are just little ole Appalachian State, but the coaching staff is not stupid.

I grew up in Gulfport, MS my whole life and left for Tacoma, WA for 6 months... came back mid-Aug and was soaking in sweat before I made it from the airport door to the truck.... heat will definately be a factor even if the players "grew up" in the south!!

Its not the heat they have to worry about. Its the freaking humidity! You can pump all the heat in a climate controlled facility all you want, last time I checked a climate controlled facility stops humidity from forming.....

That's a great story and all but you can't recreate 94 degrees, a heat index of 105, a field temp of about 109 and 80% humidity chief. We'll have guys hitting the fluids so don't act like your guys will be like superman or something. By the time the fourth qtr. rolls around you'll see a lot of guys dragging on BOTH sides and that is when you'll see what it's like to play with the big boys.

You guys are so intent on warning App fans on this point...it's like your saying APP should have turned this game down but we were to stupid to know better...Get over yourselves...For the resources APP State has, we play pretty good football...OF COURSE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BLOW US OUT! do you really think we do not get that?

I was in Boone last week for a practice. I met Coach Dillman, who was an Asst. Coach at LSU under $$$$$. Nice guy. They had ASU practicing in the middle of the afternoon - the hottest part of the day - but it was only 75 degrees and 60% humidity.

Sorry, but you can't prepare for the sweatbox that is Tiger Stadium when you're up in the mountains.

I grew up on the Coast, and when I go back home I nearly die now, because I'm no longer acclimated. It takes time.

Coach Dillman knows it's gonna be rough on his boys, but he also knows there's only so much he can do. They're gonna have tons of fluids handy and lots of encouragement.

Settle down man. It's your dumb arse fans telling us how they've been preparing with a fricking heater on in an indoor practice facility so that means y'all will have fresh legs. You have no idea what it's like down here in August. It's definitely not Ann Arbor.
