Like I said, I'm from a place where the heat index could be like 105 or so...I know 105 and 115 is different, but it's still hot at home...

I will be in a marching band uniform...so I don't want to hear anyone complain that will be in t-shirts and stuff

...they had better have one for practice...that cool crisp Smoky Mtn air won't cut it...

I don't think their summer time temps/humidity are all that much different than ours....spring and fall are cooler, but summer is sweltering.....

I never said that. Listening to App State fans compare the game to Oregon State is enough but having an LSU fan make that comparison is an entirely different story. It was nighttime, not hot and raining all evening. Glaring sun, hot temperatures and high humidity is an entirely different situation. Do not forget that the opposing team is leaving highs around 70 and low humidity. I'm not saying it will be a major determining factor but it will be a factor nonetheless.

Let's see. The high tomorrow is 62 degrees and the lows are in the 50's in Boone. We are talking about a sudden 30 degree temperature change for them. It will have some effect.

OK, 72 then. It only be a 20 degree (plus humidity added in) difference. You know how drug out you feel when the first hot days of Spring/Summer get here? That's what it's going to feel like like. Trust me, I moved from Baton Rouge to Eastern Arkansas almost 14 years ago. We have heat and humidity here but going to Baton Rouge takes it to an entirely different level. I always say "damn, I forget how hot it is down here" . NO LIE.

Thank you for clearing up that you weren't lying...anyway

I'm trying to figure out what to pack...especially since I'm going to be on a bus. It's going to be hot when we get off the bus in the various places, but I usually get cold on the bus. I guees shorts would be good...and just take a blanket.

It will be hot from the time you get out of the mountains all the way to Baton Rouge. I would not pack anything but shorts for that trip. You will be sweating your tail off the whole time you are down there. Ya'll should have a good time. People down there will give you a little bit of a hard time but it's all in fun. EAT PLENTY OF FOOD. It's the best food in the world BAR NONE!

Drink plenty of water as well. Unfortunately, BR-style food will not be on the menu. We just don't have the time.

Hope to have a great time!

They are not going to give you time to try Cajun food? That takes away a lot of fun from the trip. Nothing like crawfish, gumbo and cold beer.

The average high temp in Boone in August is 75 degrees while the average August high temp is 92 in Baton Rouge. That is a pretty big difference. Boone hasn't seen temps above 87 this month (one day at 87) and only 3 days at 85 or above. Baton Rouge has had only 8 days in August that weren't 90 or above. Baton Rouge weather is isn't that much different from Charlotte or Raleigh. But it is quite a bit different from Boone.

Unfortunately not...but I don't think I would want to eat it before being an a uniform in 95 degree weather...

We do apparently get Chick-Fil-A after the game of something...I'm definitely game for that

The Appalachians aren't high enough to make a difference. That said, I'm sure ASU's coaches condition the players properly for humidity/heat etc.

But a hot or humid day will mean that depth will matter more for both teams, and that is the big difference between single and double A.

I have mixed feelings about the heat. A hot day means uncomfortable tailgating, but also less clothing on the hotties walking around.

Actually, there is a 13 degree difference in average high in August between Boone and Charlotte (75 to 88), and 17 degree difference in average high between Boone and Baton Rouge. The mountains actually do make a substantial difference.

That said, the heat and humidity will take a toll on both teams. I agree that it will depth that will probably be the deciding factor. LSU will be able to rotate players in and out with less of a drop off in talent, size, etc.

First off, for everyone whining about the temperature, don't go if you're going to bitch.

Secondly, for everyone else whose saying our players are gonna cramp up in the 2nd quarter and die of heat exhaustion by the 3rd, don't be ridiculous. One of those players grew up in the mountains.....most of the men on that team grew up on conditions much the same as yours. Armanti lived in South Carolina, where the average temperature ain't that much different and the humidity ain't either. Same goes for the rest of those guys. Just because they live on a mountain for 2 years doesn't mean they don't know about heat and humidity.

Will we tire faster in warmer more humid weather? Yeah, it's a no-brainer. But our guys know that weather just like your guys do.....

Bunch of crybabies about the weather down there....grow a pair.

The hot weather doesn't effect us a whole lot Hoss. Anyone who thinks a nearly 20 degree temperature change with humidity won't have some effect is just stupid.

What I think is that all these guys grew up in areas where the average temperature is 5 degrees below yours with a 40-50% humidity rating. They are used to it......
