That's why I don't depend on the weather channel. I figured the WBRZ data would be more accurate.

I wish they'd allow beer sales in the SoCon.

Morning Heat?

Posted by Appaholic69 on 8/29/08 at 5:57 pm
Will the heat still be a factor in the game tomorrow with a 10 a.m. start time?

Weather Channel
@ 10 a.m. Mostly Sunny, 85°F (feels like)91°F, Humidity 10%

WBRZ
Partly cloudy with a few t'storms. Hot! Highs around 94. Winds east 5-10 mph.

The only reason I didn't include the years from 2000 to the present is because we all remember how LSU has performed recently and I didn't need to remind you rantards of your two BCS trophy wins.

My point is simply that LSU has had its own share of lack-luster periods in its historic career and that not until Les Miles became head coach have they really been the dominate force they are today. This has also created an enlarged ego-mania to some of your fan base.

So...get over yourselves!!! You aren't the best of all-time nor are you the winningest team of all-time. And btw you aren't the only team to win two national championships. Put BCS in front of it all you want. There were national champs before it was called the stupid fricking BCS!!! BCS doesn't make more of a title than any other national title.
Seems I've heard a lot about ASU having the big head on this board. Is this the pot calling the kettle black? Let's see shall we.

1999-00 went 3-8. Last place in the SEC West
1998-99 went 4-7
1997-98 9-3, won Independence Bowl
1996-97 10-2, Won Chick-fil-A Bowl
1995-96 7-4-1, Tied with Gamecocks, Won Independence Bowl
1994-95 4-7
1993-94 5-6
1992-93 2-9
1991-92 5-6
1990-91 4-6
1989-90 4-11
1988-89 8-4, Lost to Syracuse in H.O.F Bowl

The 90s pretty much wasn't LSU's decade. Six Losing Seasons. But yes LSU has improved vastly after that.

Wow!!! If I closed my eyes it wouldn't be difficult to imagine a bunch of men standing around in white robes with hoods on them as I listened to what was being said here.

Seems that the Good Ol' Boy club never really dies, Huh?
I wasn't implying that they will acclimate right away. I was answering the question in the topic.

We all understand that it's going to be hot, humid and miserable on the field, for BOTH teams. Both teams will also have plenty of fluids for the players and will try to rotate in as many people as possible to combat fatigue. LSU has the advantage with a much deeper roster than ASU. However, this doesn't necessarily negate the fact that ASU will be prepared as best it can be for the unsavory conditions.

Yes it's going to be hot and humid we all know that, you rantards have drilled that like Bush Cheney on the Iraq war, but go on to something else now. It's almost as if you are positioning your argument in case the game doesn't work out like you want.
Do answer the question in this thread's headline... Yes ASU has a humidity generator. ASU has an indoor practice facility that is climate controlled. I've spoken to several of the players and they have all said that they are training in very hot sweltering conditions.

Remember that our strength and conditioning coach worked for LSU and understands what the players will be facing in BR.

Combine this with the fact that we are 3,333 ft. above sea-level and I predict that ASU will not suffer as badly as the LSU faithful would like.

They will be on fresh legs, fully hydrated before they even leave for BR, accustomed to working in high temperatures and humidity and have a great game plan to combat dehydration as the game progresses. I know you all think that we are just little ole Appalachian State, but the coaching staff is not stupid.
From what your educated weather persons are predicting I'd say that the heat may not be as bad as you are claiming.

Aug 30 Weather

I'd say that the Mountaineers will have plenty of time to get a feel for what they will be playing in that day. Since it is a 4 o'clock start time then the heat will be decreasing toward the 80's before the first quarter ends.

As far as humidity, the elevation difference should help them. High humidity decreases oxygen levels and they play and train more than 3,000 feet above sea level. And don't give me bullshite that that won't matter. I know it does! I trained here in Boone before I went to boot camp in Orlando and it helped a lot.

Calling all Mountaineer faithful!!! Let's get this mutha started right now. Let's light this sucka up and show the K-Mart Champs how a REAL champion roars!
This shite is so weak! I could have sworn that the LSU faithful finally opened up a thread for some smack-talk and we this kind of weak arse shite on it? I hope your tigers bring more than this next Saturday afternoon. They'll need it.

The Kitty Kats may have some serious talent but if this is the heart we can expect then you can kiss the NCG Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Goodbye!

WTF is wrong with Velveeta? That's some good shite!

Put it on crackers and eat some Vienna sausages with it. UMM UMM GOOD!

But I won't be eating any cheese at the game. That is reserved for all the down-troden LSU fans to go with their wine after LSU blows their chance to go to the K-MART Bowl, I mean, NCG again.

I appreciate your attempt to use a line from the movie Tombstone, however, the only pale horse that Lesticles will be riding is the sick mules AH, JL and JJ you'll have leading the offense.

"Don'tcha wanna play for blood?"
"I'm your Huckleberry!"

Oh I have heard. I have heard the voice of God whisper softly in my ear while I ponder the battle between ASU and the Philistines from Baton Rouge.

Have faith young warriors. You have been chosen to do great things.
Is that you Tokyo Rose?

Seriously, you wanna compare the mobility of a QB from 'Bama that has his feet stuck in concrete to a true dual-threat quarterback like Armanti Edwards.

Sorry, I misinterpreted my premonition. What I meant to say was while the LSU linebacker corp was blitzing I could hear them screaming to each other, in a Bugs Bunny/looney tunes voice, "Duh... Where did he go?"
Hey Magnum P.I., the 80's called and said give it up, its over man.

I just wanna know if Chad Jones is going to be alright.

I had this uncanny premonition as I was reading this thread. APP had the ball and Armanti was in the shotgun as usual. After the snap he dropped back for what looked like a pass but then took off like a bullet up the middle of an extremely tired defense from chasing him around all day. Next thing I know, Jones breaks his leg trying to go in three directions when AE juked his arse off.
I'm sssooooo glad y'all keep using that video as an example of what anyone that plays LSU should expect. Since all of your QBs are unproven thus far you have no evidence of how your offense will REALLY operate. However, everyone has had the opportunity to see how APP rolls.

We know that you are not Meechigan but you are not the same LSU team that backed into the BCS game last year. APP State, 3-time proven NATIONAL CHAMPION!

Make no mistake, ASU is coming to BR to play and WIN.

You Are On Notice!!!

Yes it is. We like it a lot. It's in Boone but the way it is designed it is sperated from the town and the landscape and buildings are pretty nice.

this is one of the reasons i dont come over to the rant as much as i use to, b/c of you stupid F@#$%, if he was better, then why is he not playin 1A ball

To me there is basically no difference between div 1 AA and Div II. I am sure the talent is different, but to me if your not D1A your div II

I realize that this is a thread that started out harmless and all but once again some people have allowed their inferiority complexes show.

First, all that anyone can say for sure right now is that Armanti has experience in college football that Hatch and Lee have yet to get or show how talented they are. I know that both LSU QB's have talent, otherwise they sure as hell wouldn't be considered for the starting position. Instead they'd be picking up towels and keeping the starters hydrated with water bottles. Suffice it to say, that as of right now Armanti has the rings and the street cred to say he is better.

Second, get the hell over yourself if you think that players in the FBS are better simply because they are in the FBS. Armanti simply wasn't given a scholarship because of his size. However he has demonstrated that he possess the intelligence, skill and drive to compete and succeed. Ignorance is when someone doesn't know better but does something anyway, stupidity is knowing better and still doing it. Ask yourself this question the next time you begin to think that, How many athletes from lower divisions are in the hall of fame? And I don't mean just football. Examine all sports! You damn well know there have been a lot of players that have had great careers in the pros.

To summarize this long rant, simply because a university has more money, a larger stadium, bigger players and is listed in the FBS DOES NOT mean that they are superior to all universities in lower divisions. So stop thinking that your education dollars bought you a better degree or athletics department when so many other Americans out there received just as comparable of an education and athletics.
