Turning it around at this point is 8-9 wins this season including the bowl game.

Believe he will, or believe he can?

I mean, there's plenty of excuses, young players, new offense, injuries... Maybe things finally start to click and we turn it around. So can it happen? I guess it's possible.

Will it happen? Magic 8 Ball says not happening.

I was willing to give O a shot and even defended him on here. I'm a pretty optimistic guy and try to avoid emotional knee jerk reactions.

That being said, it's not just the dramatic drop in level of play, but his response to the issues and his willingness to throw everyone under the bus and not unify the team and coaching staff. There's a psychology to coaching, especially the HC position. Right now our HC resembles a paranoid schizophrenic more than a psychologist.

Can he turn it around? Possible, but I'm not optimistic at this point.

He'd have to win 4 more games...don't see that happening.

there is nothing on O's resume to suggest he has the ability to rebuild a program.

There's nothing emotional and knee jerk about hating the Orgeron hire. The knee jerk emotional ones were the ones screaming ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

Alot of things would have to change for Orgeron to turn it around, and it's not just turning around this season or this team. It's turning around the entire program as a whole.

The program is stuck in a rut right now, with problems that stemming back a few years ago. Issues relating to not recruiting to your specific needs instead of recruiting for star power. The lines were and have been severely neglected for far too long, and we're still seeing the effects of it today.

What this program needed to move forward from its neutral position was a complete overhaul. New coach, new ideas, new foundation, new ways of thinking. Instead, Alleva saw fit to just keep it on the same plane and same level by hiring Orgeron.

He saw Orgeron as a complete fix to a broken problem, and could not see the structural and foundational issues at hand. We needed a complete remodel, but all he did was put up shiny wallpaper and a fresh coat of paint. Meanwhile your structural issues have worsened and the house is about to collapse.

In short, no...Orgeron can't turn it around. In order for him to do that, he'd have to completely change how he runs his program...and he's not capable of doing that. He's reverted back to his Ole Miss days, and in turn, he's nearly turning LSU into an Ole Miss type of program.

The standard for firing Miles was championship or bust. Do I think O can win a natty? No.

Yeah, I didn't see this happening. I thought we might be ok for a couple years, the real trouble would be when we start replacing coordinators.

Problem is, we don't have a head coach on this staff. You can't just take 3 guys that aren't qualified/ready to be a head coach at a major program and expect things to work.

Someone posted a thread a while back asking just what Orgeron's responsibilities as head coach would be and he got roasted. Might be a thread worth bumping.

I do.

I may have fallen down and hit my head but refuse to believe that he is this bad.

I didn't agree with the way Les was fired. I din't agree with the hire but I refuse to accept the fact that we are this fricking bad.

I will need mental health counseling for the rest of my life just because of this season.

This board is ridiculous!! Two embarrassing losses is hard to take, but the world hasn't come to an end! Saban lost to UAB in his first year at LSU, failed miserably at Miami in the NFL, lost to ULM at Alabama. Should he have been fired?!

Give Coach O a chance. This damn fan base is way too impatient! Everyone wants instant success! The man has a heart, wants to win, is a great recruiter, and loves LSU. He will put everything he has into turning the Tigers back into a powerhouse. Don't forget, the program has been in a downhill slide for the last several years. You can never turn around a program overnight! BACK OFF! Support the team! With all this negativity, how the hell can Coach O convince the recruits to come on board.

The fans are destroying the program, not coach O!!!
