I googled it and can't find a website that gives righty/lefty splits for college baseball teams. I know some on here have a source, would yall want to share Tenn's splits? Maybe all the teams in our side of the bracket? It could add some nuance to our who to pitch against who discussions.

I think I saw that Wake Forest is not good against lefties.

I asked because I was snooping around a Tenn forum and they hinted at struggling against lefties and one guy said that he was confident in the Skenes matchup because they hit fastballs and struggle against breaking stuff.

I know we can't get fastball vs breaking stuff splits but we should be able to see R/L splits.

Skenes has movement on everything he throws.

He also struck out 12 of their batters in 7 innings and allowed 1 ER.

SEC Stats PDF Page 16

I think you've got to search via conference websites (SEC, ACC, etc.) to find those.

Hahahahahahahahaha K.

If this is true it’s another reason to not throw Floyd against them. He throws more fastballs than Skenes.

He throws a lot of flat fastballs too.

1) we throw Skenes. IDGAF that some message board guy likes his chances. every measurable statistic says otherwise.

2) if we did consider gambling game 1 like that, Floyd isn't who gets the nod. If the numbers say they struggle against breaking stuff and lefties, you start Hurd and follow him with Cooper and/or Auck.

Let me reiterate, that we should throw Skenes and worry about game 2 after we win game 1.

That's even funnier if you recall Ben talking about how Skenes was throwing a lot more breaking balls in the SR against KY because he threw more fastballs in his game against them during the season.

Interesting batting average stats for the "LSU can't hit w/ runners on base, or with bases loaded crowd"

overall .314
vs left .305
vs right .319
w/ runners on .312
w/ empty bases .316
w/ bases loaded .328
as lead off .458
pitch hitting .308
runners in scoring position .313
runner on 3rd w/ less than 2 outs .659
w/ 2 outs .296

Other than lead off & runners on 3rd w/ less than 2 outs; that's pretty damn consistent

Youll find that to be the case for most teams because hitting with risp is a bs stat

You have to throw skenes and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow regardless of what their hitters do better. Cannot risk dickin around with pitching and end up in losers bracket.

Kentucky was sitting on his fastball so he threw majority sliders. That is going to be a similar output if they are going to sit on his fastball. Skenes is not a one trick pony.

What about when the fastball has 18” of movement on it

I’ve got BAD news for that guy

we DO NOT want to be in the loser bracket with our pitching depth

LSU leads Tennessee in virtually every offensive stat and Tennessee leads LSU in virtually every pitching stat. There’s one problem for Tennessee.
Throw out the pitching edge in a one game match with Skenes on the mound. LSU now has the edge everywhere except fielding , which is a statistical tie.

That 4 seam fb is the voodoo. Every one is another nail in the coffin. 2 seam against lefties has been devastating when he is crushing the zone. That thing moves and I wimper, and I'm just drunk seeing it on TV. Can't imagine that thing standing in the box thinking here it comes.

A trail of broken souls out there.
