Jay singled him out and was like dude celebrate over here. You are way too important to us.

I like how the one coach is just getting Jobert back a bit.

Then you got JJ running up and trying to hide Crews behind everyone else praying no one noticed him.

Really though. I saw that and wondered why the Coach reacted that way.

Do we now need a "get back" coach for baseball?

They got warned last week that those celebrations could get someone ejected. It wasn’t going to be crews.

I was at the game so I don't know what the TV guys said about it but earlier in the game when Dugas hit his moonshot homerun the team came out of the dugout towards home plate, like they always do, to greet and congratulate Dugas.

The home plate umpire walked over towards them and motioned for them to get back towards the dugout.

Then Coach Johnson walked over to the umpire and they said a few words to each other, not heated, just a short conversation of maybe 10 seconds.

I'm speculating that the umpire may have told Johnson if the players repeated that celebration again outside of the dugout, which I believe is part of a new NCAA 'excessive celebration' rule this season, he was going to eject players.

Hence, Johnson morphed into Coach Mother Hen to protect his Golden Spikes Award candidate player from being ejected.

What about White staring down Dollander right before he was pulled?

I hope so cause that’ll mean these young men are constantly looking good and kicking arse!

Thanks for the explanation. I’m obviously not a baseball purist but that seems like a dumb rule.

The home plate ump gave Dugas a little hand motion and said "get going" or something, real nonchalant, before he started his jog. I think Dugas was mainly watching to see fare/foul though, not doing what Tre did last week and admiring it. Ok maybe a little of both.
