Not an SEC or national championship. Both would require us not to get blown out in said title games. Given the head coach’s history in title games, I’m pessimistic.

Not until his recruiting gets better. We can't have classes that fall in the 5-10 range every year.

It blows my mind how a coach literally is transparent with the fan base and tells us we have holes in the roster, yet the media commentators think they know better and say we will be in the playoff.

Hilarious.

For sure, I think the angst comes from the fact that it isn't clear 3 recruiting classes in that the holes are being adequately addressed to compete at an elite level. Kirby and Saban did have elite classes in their first two years, and the fanbases were energized as a result. The fan angst is directly correlated with recruiting missing the mark in certain key areas - DL most notably, but DB and QB now as a budding concern with Hurley looking so so.

This. Kelly literally told the media we are 1 year away. Not a great message to your team but he was honest

BK has shown the capacity to fold in some big games. Florida State x2, Tennessee and TA&M. LSU had a great opportunity going into A&M and the team was not coached to play. BK better get this crap under wraps because you only get one FKup per season that you may possibly get away with.

Yes I do. If the last two coaches can do it Kelly can sure do it. There are two things that concern me. 1. Recruiting. We are not recruiting elite athletes from high school or the portal. Not the kind of dogs we need. 2. This team quit in the fourth quarter. That’s scary and falls back on coaching. My biggest thing is this is not the Irish. You have to recruit different type of kids in the SEC.

Yes, they can.

Will they? We'll see.

In a weak SEC west with one of the worst teams under Saban. Yes, good year for a rebuild on us but let's not act like it would've happened any other year. Ole Miss was exposed and incredibly overrated. The only good team really was Bama and they had one of the worst WR groups under Saban alongside the defense. Bryce Young was actually the entire team.

To answer OP: No. I gave BK and staff the benefit of the doubt but after seeing the FSU game I've now realized everything ND fans warned us to be true. Whether this board wants to admit it or not he has striking similarities to Les Miles too and that's not good. He's not the Xs and Os guru this board tries to make him out to be. When he gets out coached it's embarrassing to where the team is not even competitive. 4-5 losses were not competitive for LSU and the 5th wasn't competitive the majority of the game. There was actually a point last year where FSU looked like they were going to dominate and stay ahead like they did in the game other day. The problem with this is it's no longer a symptom but a disease and you can follow this evidence to his career at ND in big games.

I'm off the BK train and will now stay critical on everything he does. Too many red flags to ignore now.

No, infact I see a drop off in success from their first year. The play calling and defensive scheme is high schoolish. Good teams have figured them out.

I really thought this year the team was show a huge improvement but after seeing that first game we are no better than we were last year.

Absolutely not

BK is one of the worst big-game coaches in CFB

it would be some type of fricked up law of averages for Miles and O to get one and not BK. eventually that streak ends going back to the last 3 coaches winning one starting with Saban. maybe it is the coach that came over with the best creds on paper

Amazing how dumb people are. BK will be in the college football Hall of Fame.

If O, Miles, Coker and Chizik can win nattys yes BK is more than capable.

I know, right? Did you see Dabo Swinney and Clemson fall apart against Duke? No way that guy could bring a championship to that school...oh...wait a minute...
