It would be awesome if Auburn beats Bama.

At least then we would have a sensible system that resulted in that outcome. I'm a playoff proponent. I believe that Alabama is the 2nd best team in the nation, and that LSU would win the rematch. However, if I have to suffer through the BCS every year because "college football has the most meaningful regular season in all of sports" then don't give me a rematch at the end of the season. A rematch answers no questions, only replays a game we've already seen. If a rematch is the result of a playoff, then there were games that led up to that result that would hopefully have answered some questions - unless someone wants to argue that a 4 team playoff would be Ark, LSU, Alabama and some sacrificial team.

The arguement would make alot more sense if we beat them at our house and not theirs. No excuses now.

Should Alabama be in the title game? Of course not. LSU beat them IN THEIR HOUSE. They have no argument. It's an absolute joke for them to even be in the title game.

With that said if LSU has to play Alabama again I accept the challenge. It's in the Dome and the LSU players have been hearing all the whining Alabama has been doing. We still owe those bastards.

Nope dont want a rematch. I think the BEST 2 teams should play in the ncg. So unfortunately that means bama should be in it. At this point looking at the remaining one loss teams, from the human perspective, Bama has the best argument right now to play in Nawlins on jan 9th.

it still wouldn't be fair and most likely won't happen, bama won't play a championship game if lsu wins friday. cause during championship week bama can and will get jumped by a lower level team. us beating arkansas and ok st. winning sets the tone for that bcsncg match. If bama gets a rematch it shows that the system is flawed and opens the argument for a tournament even more. bama might be the 2nd best team in the country, but they lost to the 1st team in the country, if we win out, they get to watch our offense from the couch in the sec championship game, unethical and unfair for them to warrant a title rematch. if they wanted a championship they shouldn't have lost in november open and shut case....johnson

a rematch doesn't scare me and part of me thinks the chance to win even MORE convincingly (which I believe would happen in the Dome) might be nice in order to shut up all the people bitching about the first LSU/Bama game, but I don't know how much interest there will be nationally in watching it. I'd love to see LSU go up against a whole new opponent to generate more national interest in the game, to have a chance to shut down one of these *vaunted* high-power offenses, to showcase how effective an LSU offense can be when faced with the mediocre defense other conferences seem to offer (since the Bama game seemed to leave so many people with the impression that the Tigers just play terrible offense) and also because of that irritating feeling of unfairness that Bama gets away with taking the "easy road" to the NC if they get rewarded with the chance to play.

I've never been persuaded by that argument when used against a playoff, but in this case you would be totally negating the meaning of the supposed "Game of the Century" we already played.
Playing Bama again and losing would be a bum rap for this team. I am actually surprised it's being assumed the voters will put them in front of any 1-loss conference champions. I know the SEC is the best conference, but it's not a good thing for college football when the championship game basically excludes all of the other conferences by default.
For another thing, I don't believe LSU would be getting a second chance if the roles were reversed. We got in in 2007, but we won our conference then too. Bama is getting special treatment b/c they are Bama and b/c the media loves Saban.

Lastly, I fully acknowledge that I think we would have a greater chance of losing to Bama than to any other team. If you want to say I'm "scared" to play them again, go ahead. They had their chance and got beat at home. They should not get another one.

The system is designed to have #1 and #2 play for the championship. That is it. The way that is determined is 2/3 human element and 1/3 computer element. So if enough people with the votes that count put bama at #2 and the comps give them enough weight they play jan 9th.

Completely agree.

But we do not have a playoff system.

let's hope the voters get it right. I just feel all the LSU haters might put Bama in. I am sure Les is prepared for any eventuality.

Bama lost at home, will probably not play for the conference championship, and has had an easier schedule. I don't believe they deserve it, but it will probably happen anyway. I just hope that if it does, LSU goes in with a better offensive game plan and cleans house. Because it is shitty hearing from the "experts" that Bama is still the better team.

It's unfair as frick to have to win the division, conference, and then have to play a team you've already beaten. Why do they get the reward for coming up short. They even get an extra bye week to get healthy. frick Bama. We beat them already. They need to go to the Sugar where #2 in the SEC belongs and LSU plays the highest ranked conference champion for the title. Thats how the shite is supposed to work. All you people clamoring for a rematch... Win and everything is gravy. But are you prepared to lose and wonder that all the work to get here meant? So the gumps could stroll in and win an nc by default?

The sweetness of beating them twice in the same year will make up for any unfairness.

What will their excuse be then?
