Do you guys feel like the officiating was worse this season than any other?

Off the top of my head-

First half of Miami

1st quarter vs auburn (potentially the worst I've ever seen in sports, a blown call going auburns way nearly every play)

Overtime vs aggies (almost as bad, calls so bad that the commissioner couldn't even say the last bad call wasn't a bad game changing call)

And first quarter vs UCF

The only other time I've ever had a ref complaint is the numerous rig jobs playing at auburn. No other time. But this year seemed much much worse. Just curious what other perspectives are from our fanbase.

I do agree it seemed officiating was worse but to act like we weren’t beneficiary of some bad calls is foolish. Now I can’t name any off the top of my head because it’s easier to remember the stuff that doesn’t go our way but there definitely were calls that went our way. Don’t act like everything always goes our opponents way.

Not quite. I didn't complain about refs before except a few away games at auburn. No other exceptions. Never understood the Alabama complaints. This year had me pissed 4 different times, more than my entire past put together, which isn't a short time.

Also to the above post, I didn't say we didn't also benifit. I'm focused on the amount of blown calls against us right now.
Edit: for example, the ucf game was blown calls all around. They lost control of the game.

I almost forgot about the worst targeting call in college football history on d white.

It’s just the way humanity is now. We’re so use to everything being perfect that we pitch when things aren’t perfect. Officiating is better now than it ever has been before. It’s just us pushing harder and harder for everything to be absolutely perfect that we complain harder when something goes wrong

They were exponentially worse. Miami, TAMU, UCF, Devin White for Bama. Now, when i say worse, what I really mean is, “They no longer care if fans can tell or not that they make calls to keep games close, so that viewers don’t change the channel and lose advertisement revenue, or they simply push certain teams through, as in Bama’s case gear in and year out.”

This was probably the worst year for officiating that I can remember, including calls both for and against LSU.

The A&M game was the worst I had ever seen until the NFCCG.

I just wish theyd find some sort of common ground/consistency with "targeting".deriick Dillon gets it at florida 2 seasons ago for basically the same hit that burrow suffered in the fiesta. mack Wilson doesn't get it vs ten, but we all remember the devin white play. Wilson makes up for it by leading crown to crown on trevor Lawrence. auburn db gets the call and subsequently has it reversed after replay. not even a penalty. im still confused. they leave it as a judgement call but cant seem to get it correct/consistent even with multi angle, slo mo replay.

I think that targeting penalty and giving the authority to the officials too call it totally ruined college football this year. Just my .02

I think we are forgetting about auburn ‘04 and ‘06. Talk about highway robbery!

I can't recall a time in the recent past where I said that it was better than last year, so...

A couple of the PI calls on that last drive v. Auburn were questionable.

However, the most glaring errors negatively impacted LSU. Several calls in the A&M game were unacceptable; that targeting on Devin White v. Miss St was a horrendous error, as was the missed PF call that leveled Burrow in the Fiesta, on the pick six.

The targeting calls and no calls was terrible all over college football.

I think many of these posters are too young to remember those games and just how outrageous the officiating was in them.

You forgot perhaps the most egregious one, the DW targeting call.
