“Throw with the best qbs in the country”

ETA: and that this offense will put up 40-60 points a game?

This is pure confidence in his abilities running this offense (whether changed or not).

I think Burrow has it upstairs with absolutely anyone playing college football. He has good wheels on him too. Only knock would be that he doesn't have a huge arm, but I think he will be great.

Yes. The sky is the limit with the new offense. Want to know what other QBs use this offense?

I’ll give you a hint. His name rhymes with Stew Trees

He's got enough talent to start on pretty much any team in the country, and he is one of the toughest sons of bitches to ever wear P&G... so... yes?

Burrow will be a shade better than the Oline. If the line is mediocre, he’ll be good. If the line is good,he’ll be great. If the line is great, he’ll be spectacular.

Can he do those things? Yes

Can this offense be explosive and put up those numbers? Yes

Will it happen? This is where the wait and see crowd says, we hope so.

Another interesting piece about this are the apparent differences in Burrow's and Haskins' playing styles. Burrow's arm strength has improved every year since he's been here, and he's accurate, but he's not going to wow anyone with the way he throws the ball.

"Personally I think one of the strengths of my game is my accuracy," Burrow said. "I've always been pretty accurate with the ball. ... I would say my arm is a lot stronger. My release and feet are a lot quicker. My mechanics have gotten better in general."

There's probably more Barrett to Burrow than there is to any other player in the quarterback room. That might make some fans cringe given the mixed feelings on Barrett coming into this season, but the guys making the decisions -- Meyer and Day -- like everything a Barrett/Burrow brings to the table.

"Joe is a really smart, tough football player," Day said. "He's a coach's son, really smart in the classroom, good skill set and has a good control of the field when he's out there. He's been in games, so he has some experience and is a guy that can manage the offense. He's got a strong arm, threw some nice balls down the field in the spring game."

Ohio’s top QB prospect for the 2015 class must continue to add strength and bulk. However, has a strong arm to go with a high football IQ. A natural leader with the ability to stretch a play and throw on the run who is also a tough runner that is not afraid of contact. Dave Berk - Ohio Recruiting Analyst

Burrow threw farther than Haskins in 2 Spring game competitions at Ohio State. This "lack of arm strength" myth was started by the uninformed-wannabe-football-gurus and is still repeated (almost daily) by the uninformed-wannabe-football-gurus.

Burrow has a strong arm but usually throws the ball with touch - the NFL HOF is full of QBs who threw with touch (but could gun it when needed)

That's a good way to put it.

His arm is plenty strong enough. People put way too much stock in overwhelming arm strength. A good QB doesn't have to throw the ball through a wall to be effective.

He’s a Heisman favorite and the sky is the limit.

He could go first round if he keeps it up

There are a lot of target spots that a ball thrown on a laser beam can't safely get to (like over the LB and under the Safety) - and that only a ball thrown on an arc with touch can.

It takes much more skill to throw with touch than to fire fastballs. But the fastballs do LOOK cooler.

All he has to do is play within his abilities, utilize the tools he has available(receivers) and not try to carry the team on his back. He is surrounded by talent and he needs to play like Mauck and Flynn did...steady and avoid the big errors. It appears to be setting up well for him and he is exuding confidence and leadership...the keys to being a great QB.
