Do we run any formations that would call for JH & LF on together?

Or are their advantages to putting that into the offense? Is it just enough to alternate them keeping them fresh throughout the game?

Perhaps a 2 running back formation.
what a brilliant idea chap!

No it just seems like we run mostly fb and tailback but not a lot of 2 back sets that call for 2 tailbacks. I don't remember a lot of Magee/Hill sets. Hill and Hilliard with Hilliard in a FB role or Hill with Neighbors or Hill with Copeland. Not much two back sets with 2 tailbacks. Which I hope we see next season all of the time.

Yeah. Hill at RB and Fournette in the slot. You could do all kinds of things.

He is right on that.. LSU is mostly a 1 RB and 1FB set. I would love to see what Cam does to put both of them on the field.

Yes, there is a formation with 2 RBs in the shotgun. Used it with Magee and Hill some this season.

Running some triple option out of an I would be fun with Hill at QB, Hilliard at FB, and Fournette at TB.
Did Hill play any QB in HS?

We've run shotgun formations with 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a TE
And I'll bet there's some under center formations with the same line up (NOT an I-form play, that's got a FB)
So yeah we can get them on the field together

Could help draw more men into the box for the play action. May open up something like a speed sweep depending on how the D lines up to it. But that's not until after we have spent lots of time running the ball with each guy blocking for the other while there are better blockers elsewhere to be placed in the backfield for that reason. And then you have one of those two 'fresh' at all times, which is a much more dangerous option than probably the majority of misdirection we could run with those two in at once (we aren't much of a misdirection team in the running game).

I'm a little afraid of some of the Triple Option (not all the time, just a few times a game) LSU can do with AJ at QB and Hill/LF in the backfield.

While not slow, AJ isn't extremely fast either. I'd be more scared of Brandon Harris back there instead.

This could turn some heads.

Go back and watch film on Hilliard and James. They were both in the backfield at the same time. I'm sure if Hill stays, there will be sets where both are on option.

Alot of next years offense will be designed to get the ball out of Jennings hands as quickly as possible. I would expect more passes to our RBs, TEs and while we will probably see some 2RB sets, if you're not running, you'd probably want some 5-7 step drop off playaction with an intermediate to deep route....I just don't know how much of that we will see next year. To be successful, it will have to be some for sure, but I think the biggest advantage is the 1-2 punch over the span of the game and season, not a play here or there.

From a personnel standpoint though, yes, I think we will see a few packages with them on the field together....especially with the ability to run some screens and line either or up in the slow as previously mentioned.

might want to worry about Hill staying before you jump the gun
