I am curious how they will stack the lineup today. The only reason I would maybe disagree with you is having that many RH batters in a row. Maybe have Pearson in front of White and Travinski to break it up just a little bit.

With the amount of RH bats though, the lineup will be multiple in a row RH at some point so why not at the top. All about the production and who can get on base at the top whether RH or LH.

And ruin the tradition of melting down 3 weeks into the season?

Reset expectations

The Rant

The first time this team gives up a hit, walk or error, or goes 3 up 3 down at the plate and this place will explode.

That a symptom of the current situation, for the most part, I think.

This is true.

This is direct result of what the first thing you said.

To answer this, yes, 100% we need to reset expectations. However, we will not, this place will freak the frick out at any moment.

there’s no shortage of idiots in any fanbase, especially on an internet message board after a loss

But the poster whose takes you are specifically describing above who is at max retardation is Tarzana

90% down votes for asking a couple of questions is actually pretty funny.

You chose literally opening day to start some sad-sack “should we all be less excited and expect our squad to be worse” thread.

Yea dude. You’re a real fricking hoot.

I’m not gonna talk bad about anyone but while a few guys played their best baseball in June last year, they were often criticized from Feb-May for different reasons including a few pitchers that will likely start.

Realistically we can’t expect what we saw in June for a whole season. Some guys will improve, others will fall back a little. Still a solid team I think but as soon as a guy has a short outing or a top hitter has a slump you’ll see the critics come out as they do every year.

This team is still loaded with more talent than we have seen in the last decade except for last season. I think they can make a run but won’t be favorites all year once we drop a few games. If we stay healthy we have a very high ceiling though.

I'm not sure Pearson is going to get on base at the clip Bingham will but if Pearson can then yes having a LH bat placed before White will be beneficial. However its more important to have a guy who gets on base a lot in front of White regardless if hes a RH bat or LH bat.

How did you get to be so smart? Do you study a lot or were you born with it? You are an impressive person with a wealth of knowledge. This board is lucky to have you.

Actually I am a hoot. Glad you noticed. The entire context of my thread was not to reset expectations that we would be worse. I specifically mentioned style of play multiple times.

Also specifically said I wasn't talking about wins and losses, more preparing to watch what could be a different type of team this year. Even suggested I could be wrong on that because I wasn't familiar with all of the newcomers, both freshmen and portal.

I also it stated how excited I was that opening pitch was 24 hours away. I'm really not sure how you missed all that but it's all good. Hope we both enjoy the weekend with four baseball games to watch win or lose.

To those of you that have provided your take on what to expect out of this year's team, I've enjoyed reading them all.
