Will wade performed as head of the LSU men’s basketball program exactly as every head coach coming into town for final four perform for their programs.

He got targeted by media darlings for crashing the elite party and zero support from his administration.

Yes, I absolutely support Wade. Did he cheat? Yes. Is it Woodward's fault he cheated? No. Is it Woodward's fault he was caught? No. Was it Will's fault he was caught? Yes.

Will wanted to win. He wanted to play with the big boys. He wanted to do something that had not happened at LSU in decades, be relevant and pack the PMAC. I will thank him and support him for doing what all coaches were doing during that time.

I can blame him and be thankful/support him at the same time.

Damn straight I do, we should’ve fought this to the end like UNC did and Kansas is doing but we surrendered out of the gate. It’s because Wade wasn’t Woody’s guy and I don’t think Woody enjoyed the 2020 allegation that much since it allegedly occurred under his tenure. Now, I think the 2020 allegation is complete horseshite since LSU barely gathered together $30K to keep Kayshon from transferring to Bama and football’s our main cash cow, Get Gordon saved us there. We aren’t spending $300K on some scrub African center that’s insane.

Also I know Johnny Jones didn’t make the tournament with the #1 pick and had that bad year his last year but his first 3 years weren’t horrible

In fact he won 19 game starting a tuba player at center and won 19 or more games in every year except his last

I know a lot of people call Jones’ tenure a train wreck but I think he gets a bad rap

Does he deserve criticism for what happened late in his tenure absolutely? But I don’t think, except for the last year, we were a train wreck

Of course they do. Every time a player leaves because of what he caused,we get the screw Woodward comments.

I fully support him. NCAA with it's gestapo tactics doesn't go after: Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, etc, etc.
Johnnie delivered $50k to Chris J.

Y’all revisionists are either willfully disingenuous due to your agenda to defend the university, completely fail to see what he did here was a major positive outlier compared to the previous 20 seasons
The previous 4 LSU Men’s Basketball coaches all won as many SEC titles as Wade

he absolutely destroyed our program through his blatant cheating.

I mean we don't have sanctions yet who knows maybe Woody made the right call and this won't end up damaging the program much.

This transferring happens all the time now, there is already over 1000 kids in the portal or have been in the portal. Murray St's entire team left as well because.... Coaching change.

Look I am glad Will Wade came here, at least people have a program to care about getting destroyed I'd rather that than a consistently boring lackluster 18 win team (At best). These 5 years were fun as frick and I am sure Matt Kennedy McMahon can also get this program back on track in 2 years or so.

That is true, but it is a whole different conference since then. That team with Del Tuba on it would get trounced in today's SEC.

False. They are better cheaters than he is. Wade was arrogant and sloppy with how he went about his business. Too many smoking guns and fingerprints all over the place. The other big cheats are better at covering their tracks. They get/got lesser penalties because the evidence is more circumstantial. Will Wade left the NCAA and his bosses no real choice but to drop the hammer.

No, he got targeted because he was an idiot and interjected himself in business dealings.

He also lied and covered up. You would have fired him too.

I appreciate Wade. I know he didn’t do things right or smart, but I mean, the dude just paid players. He didn’t want to get caught. He just got caught.

I also am fine with moving on. Yes we might suck. And maybe we’d have more wins if they kept him and fought, but at least it appears like we cut ties with toxicity. Regardless, the basketball program was doomed for a couple years, at least now we’re doomed and toxic free. I choose that for lsu.

I don’t give a single f$&k about cheating, especially with NIL making it all 100% legal now, and every major program being involved since the dawn on time

You and and everyone like are dumb asses who cannot comprehend that what Wade did is nothing like NIL.

It boggles my mind that the mouth breathers have such a hard time understanding this.

I love winning in basketball.
