Admittedly, he was signed before NIL was big, but why in the world a 7 year contract? And 20.3 million?? Now, I'm not sure. I wouldn't like it, but I could see a scenario where he returns so LSU avoids such a big buyout.

I do. $10+ millions why. Can’t pay every sport football money. Donors support football and baseball. Buyouts and new coach expensive. Basketball still makes money w sec tv contracts. Will run it back one more year w MM is my opinion. Sucks but we offered him 7 yr contract after will wade incident to get someone to take job after we lost scholarships. WW still here if NIL hits year earlier.

Unfortunately as crazy as it sounds a lot of people Do . The same people very close to the program that thought he was gone are now saying it’s a very good chance he’s back from what I’ve been told . Absolutely mind blowing that they are even considering bringing him back

Will he even have a roster or are we going to play 4 on 5? I can't criticize big money boosters who don't want to pay for the buyout, etc. It's not my money. But it's just unbelievable to think he might get another year.

If we give Wade a 2nd year at NC state without going all out to hire him now, I think it'll be a lot tougher to get him out of Raleigh.

The longer he stays, the more they'll be desperate to keep him, and the deeper his roots will be established there.

LSU should have fired the 2 clowns that prevented Wade from coming back earlier. Then he'd be in the middle of his 1st season back here, and we'd be tournament bound. Maybe it wasn't possible to clear them out that quickly, so it wasn't able to be done.

Welcome to the club, better late than never. I'm as big of an LSU fan as ANYBODY, and I've been rooting for this clown to get blown out every game for this exact reason.

It needs to be so bad that there is NO OTHER CHOICE!!!

However the report that will come out will cite the administration changes that took place as reason for him getting another season.

I misunderstood what I was told about the admin change. Everything else is still same for now unfortunately. But the reason cited if he returns will not be admin changes. The Lee Mallet news looks good for us getting Will back however I still don't see that happening THIS year.

What could possibly be the justification they can float to the fanbase (what’s left of it)?

If McMahon is brought back next season, I hope we lose every game by 40+. I want total humiliation for all involved.

Talk about spitting in the faces of the fans.

I will never forgive Scott for firing Will Wade. Completely ruined this basketball program with that single decision.

I don't know the exact reason. Think the boosters just don't want to pony up that much cash after how much was spent on football in the past couple months. My hunch (no source) on this is the boosters/BoS are doing all of this to make a massive run at Will after next season. It's essentially Wade or bust is what I think. And I think if they made a move this year they would not want to spend what it would take to get Will this year.

I believe most don't think he will be coaching here. It sort of reminds me of Johnny Jones's final season.

It was inevitable that he was no longer going to be the head coach once the season came to an end.

Typical Louisiana mindset. Familiar choice or bust!

Probably why the state ranks #48-50 in every meaningful category. What a shame. Total self-sabotage.

When Wade rejects us next season, then what? Lifetime contract for McLoser I suppose.

If they are really going after Wade only waiting another year would be pretty awful business. His buyout now is only like 3 million dollars. If we were to wait that cost will probably go up.

If he is your one choice, which I definitely think he has to tell them no before they move on, you need to get him as soon as his season ends this year.

No matter what you fire CMM though, if you miss on Wade just promote one of the assistants for next season. You'll probably get better results than CMM anyway.

I completely agree. If Wade coaches another season in Raleigh, they're gonna want to keep him even more, and he'll personally be more entrenched there.

I think if the money people really want Wade back, they're gonna need to get their ducks in a row NOW in order to accomplish this.

Again I really hope the info I got this time is wrong and that is the case and we get him this year.

There's a lot to like about CWW. Instant excitement. Recruits aggressively. SEC familiarity. Passion on the court. A willingness to swing. He's not the perfect coach, but he brings a lot that would at least get support from fans (except you, I guess).
