You should thank him and me and other fans that show up.
Empty stadiums are embarrassing...
I can go to or throw a party year round. Tiger Football happens only a handful of times.
THIS.

I do this often. I love the atmosphere tailgating and watching the game as much as I love the games sometimes.

You're tired of watching the offense too I see
This is the main reason I don't go to the games after tailgating all day. It has been just to frustrating lately. Rather go home and watch game and if it gets to ugly, just turn it off.

I go to maybe 1 or 2 games a season and tailgate at all of them. I seriously can't imagine being in BR on a saturday that's gameday and not tailgating. That just doesn't make sense to me.
This.
I won't buy season tickets; they aren't worth the investment, to me.
I'll tailgate and if I'm in a mood to handle the negatigers, I'll pick up a ticket from someone at the tailgate.

1) TV. We used to stand for the whole game. We yelled non-stop. Games lasted about 2 1/4 hours, the action was fairly constant. Now games last 3 1/2 hours, with tv timeouts disrupting the flow of the game / cheering.
This. And replays. All of the dead time in the stadium kills me. Is there an actual reason/rule that they don't show replays during reviews? I'm always thinking, if I were watching TV I would be seeing this from 10 different angles right now, not just sitting here waiting.

You aren't supposed to think about how things are better if you were watching on TV. You are at the game supporting your team.
It means you are a better fan.

I guess the best way to describe this topic is technology getting the best of the actual game experience. The HD TV's, replays and DVR has helped with the fan watching it at home. Not to mention all the DUI checkpoints these days. People probably want to party at home.

Excuses, excuses, excuses....
Fact is, you put your comfort first and foremost, yet you claim to be just as dedicated a fan as someone who will endure minor inconveniences to support the team in the stadium.
It's akin to never showing up for work and claiming to be just as good an employee as the guy who is there everyday.
Stay comfortable, my friends.

You are a riot.
Congrats on being the better fan. Even though you think watching from home is the better experience, you sacrifice for the sake of the team.
It's not because you simply enjoy being at the stadium more, it's because the team needs you.
Nice job superfan, and be sure to let everyone know that you are the better fan.
Hopefully, one day, you will grow up.

LSU fans would rather tailgate than go in the stadium. That's embarrassing.
fans who maybe don't have tickets and rather just watch the game around the stadium. I have no issues with this. Its part of tiger stadiums atmosphere.

I am the better fan and you can't handle that.
You're insecure.
Dude, I already know that people that leave the tailgate or leave the house to actually go to the game are the fans that make Death Valley home for the Tigers....you in your living room is, well, home for YOU.
I will be forever grateful for the moments i have witnessed in that Stadium.
Watching from home is not the better experience for ME.
To each his own, but all Fightin Tiger fans are not equal.

As I clearly said, I understand why many fans no longer attend games. It's expensive, all the day games are longer & hotter, the cupcake games suck, etc etc. My comments bout being embarrassing were directed at those who clearly said they preferred to party & drink over going to the game. I could care less who is a "super fan" and who is not. I used to party just as hard if not harder, as we did not have all the fancy setups & still managed to have a great time. Our tailgating helped to provid TS with all the ambiance that it used to be famous for. But I still always attended the games.

"Secure" people don't crow about being secure and being better than other people.
From a financial standpoint...yeah, you're a better fan than me. You're definitely more attractive to LSU's bottom line because you put more money into the coffers. To blanketly say that just being in the stadium means you feel something more deeply than every other fan is pretty ludicrous. Not really even sure how you quantify that. If it's true that the people that pay for tickets are the better fans, then why is the stadium half empty in the fourth quarter of almost every game? At least I don't take a ticket from anyone who wants to be there. Ftr...It's not like I've never been inside Tiger Stadium. There were several years that I never missed a home game, and hardly any away games. Now, I enjoy the game from a different perspective.

I qualified my statement when i said in my earlier post that if you HAVE the option to go and don't.
By the way, YOU started me on this when you were a dick in your response to another poster.
I don't crow about shite, but I will make my point when dumbasses downplay the importance of game attendance.
Apparently some of you have the finances for a helluva party but not a ticket to the game.
Again...priorities are different for some. I know how you love when I say that.

Our parties are definitely well above average.

Party on, supertailgater!
I love the tailgate scene too. We put a lot of effort into ours, as well. We do not differ on that part.
It's clear where we part ways.

I do enjoy the game day experience, but am growing a lot less tolerant of the morons in the stadium...
I feel this way about baseball games now. I'm lucky that the people around my seats in Tiger Stadium are knowledgeable, rational, friendly and fun. Sounds crazy, I know.

He's not insecure, he's already justified his fandom by sacrificing for the team. I mean, he stated that watching on TV is the better experience. And he denies himself this experience to help the team. It's not that he prefers to be in the stadium, he is doing his duty as a fan and sacrificing for the team.
He is noble, we should all try to be like this superfan. And the people that choose to do what they enjoy be damned. We need to be there for the team! THE TEAM!!!
