I have no idea if I’d be the best or not because im not sure who all applied. I have 36 years of professional P.A. speaking experience and I applied, sent samples of my work and didn’t get as much as an email back. I give my oath, I’m WAY better than what we have!! I was highly disappointed when I went through the paperwork, the voice samples, anll that and only to learn it was a political insider job that I never had a chance at. At least, if politics are at play, they should have to be good at it! Such a shame! I hope I get another shot some day soon

He sounds bland and just doesn’t encapsulate the feeling that Borne could. I know that’s unfair to say, but it felt like Borne helped create the atmosphere. Dixon doesn’t do that for me

I searched the internet and it listed two sets of parents. That’s unusual. His dad is listed as a partner at a wealth management company with only $1.4 billion under management. That doesn’t sound extremely wealthy. Did he make, or inherit, money elsewhere?
Also, the P.A. announcer job is shown to only pay $125 per game. So why is this such a prize?

Have you not ever heard of divorce lol? Both of his parents are wealthy. His father married former newscaster Andrea Clesi and his mother married another man from BR. Hence 2 sets of parents…
I’ve known Dixon for a long time. Good dude, bad pa Announcer. He was much better at calling CHS games.
Also, Wally (his dad) played baseball at LSU and in the minor leagues, so he has connections there as well as Dixon is a state representative. Which by the way (not directed at you but other commenters) his dad didn’t buy all of district 68’s votes for him to win.

And that was the point I was getting at: his parents (all 4 of them) seem affluent but not really very wealthy. I’m sure their connections helped, but the job doesn’t even seem worth bribing people.

It’s a status symbol position, and those are usually afforded to those with pull. It’s Louisiana, everything’s corrupt

He will eventually find his voice and cadence. People are just used to borne. Franques doesn’t have the voice or emotion to be the PA for tiger stadium. I think Dixon needs a little maturity in his voice. I know this sounds strange but you need a person in their 50’s or 60’s to do the job.
Dixon is not a bad person but definitely not humble. He’s self absorbed like most politicians.
