we're 34-34-3 against Florida right now. just because they consider UGA and FSU bigger rivals doesn't mean they aren't our biggest. the series is historically competitive

Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama: primary rivals

Texas A&M and Arkansas: secondary rivals

Auburn, Miss.State, Kentucky: historical rivals

Tennessee, Georgia, S. Carolina, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma: SEC opponents, no inherent rivalry status.

Did I do this right?

Auburn - probably

Auburn is a pretty easy drive from BR. 3 from BR to Mobile and then 3 from Mobile to Auburn.

It's not a terrible drive, except for that lengthy, boring, slow stretch of road between Mobile and Montgomery. Think Mississippi Highway 25, from Jackson to Starkville, and add an hour to your destination.

especially with Moo State being down right now, the LSU game has been the biggest game on Ole Piss’ schedule for a few years now. The rivalry has been pretty even as well for the past four years.

not really.

Yes, they are all huge games, but a rivalry is different than just a big game.

Ole Miss used to be a rivalry, dating back to the 50s and 60s, but has faded since then. Yes, it's a neighboring state, but isn't really a rivalry anymore.

Bama is a huge game, but that's only been for the last 25 years. Before that, they dominated the series. And they're two states away, so that kind of diminishes the "rivalry" aspect.

A&M is a big game too, but there was a 16 year gap beginning in 1995 and an 11 year gap in 1975. That doesn't happen in rivalries.

I guess it's all about the definition, but I don't think LSU has any football rivals. Several massive, emotional games, but not a true "rival."

Always so dumb when people say this. No we don’t have an instate named rivalry game. But Ole Miss, Alabama, and A&M are absolutely rivals.

It’s true. We have several rivals. Not one above all others, but plenty. I’d throw Florida and Auburn in there too.

But several still heated ones.

Still is imo.

Conference realignment has alot to do with the gaps. A&M is still a big rival.

Auburn and Bama are about the same.

And Florida.

So, just my humble opinion, LSU's biggest rivals are Ole Miss, A&M, Auburn/Bama, and Florida.

you're unintentionally making my point for me.

A team can't have 5 "rivals."

Yes, these are 5 emotional, important games. But they're not rivals.

At most, a team can have 2 rivals - usually one in-state and one from a neighboring state. UGA has FL and Ga Tech. Bama has Auburn and Tennessee. Oklahoma has Texas and Okie State.

No team has 5. Those are just important games, but not rivals.

This. Things have changed a lot since the GTHOM days. Now we can just hate 'em all.

During the season, it seems like every week no matter who we play in sec, there’s a group of people here that say “man I HATE [insert team], we can’t lose to them”.

If you have different segments of the fanbase saying that about different teams every week, you don’t have a true rival.

If there was one team where the entire fanbase was in agreement that you cannot lose to this team, regardless of record, or it’ll ruin your entire year because you have to interact with them every day, then yea I’d say that team was a true rival.

We are closer to Starkville, then Oxford, College Station, Austin, and then Fayetteville. Which school would you consider our rival? History would definitely say Go to Hell, Ole Miss. Our recent history would favor Bama, Auburn, or Florida. Curious as to what the Rant's opinion is on this. I see comments about our infatuation with the aggie. What say you?

None of the above. L.S.U. doesn't have a true rival unfortunately.

Tulane hasn't really been a rival since the 40s.

Which of those does L.S.U. play on rivalry weekend?
