Declare for what? Papa Johns?

He'd be an undrafted free agent. But if he feels he can make a team then give it a shot. He'd probably be passed up by next year's Sophomores as they learn to pass protect this summer.

I hope he stays and gets the 18. Hard working, quiet, leader and he has that killer instinct.

I don't think so. Add to the list to do for Orgeron and Woodward. Get the juniors to stay that should.

Clyde should stay. Next year he comes back and will be preseason all conference and will move up in the draft.
Average career in the NFL is three years. Their biggest pay day is draft day...

Juniors that should go Delpit maybe Chaisson if he stays healthy. You should go probably only if 1st round they say.

Helaire, Phillips, Cushenberry, Deculus, Charles, Stevens should all stay. All could considerably move up their draft stock with another year.

didn't read the comments below the post description

Helaire will make a good pro. you are talking about a 1000 plus yard back in the SEC. You may be mistaken

He had on of the highest ratings at the opening in high school. ran a 4.4. etc. He will kill at the combine. I think the question is, will returning help out his draft stock. I don't think so. With the short life span of a RB, I would leave early.

There is no way he runs a 4.4

I think he goes pro. RBs have a short NFL life span. I don’t think Clyde could prove any more than he is already proven so far this year so might as well go make his $.

I mean Darren Sproles had 1500+ yards from the line of scrimmage 3 years in a row and went in the 4th

It definitely hurt his stock, but not his career

Clyde ran a 4.47 at the opening his senior year. 2nd behind etienne 4.43.

NFL lifespan for running backs is short and with few exceptions they (even really good ones) rarely go in the first round.

I don’t see how CEH can improve his stock next year. Especially without Burrow taking a lot of the pressure off the RBs.

I’d love for him to stay but the smart move is to declare and get paid.

Silly. He isn’t ready. He can improve more. Has he improved this year? Yes he has. He can move up in the draft considerably.

Clyde for Heisman. Love this guy. Perhaps shooting a little high but he will be great next year

As a high schooler? I don't believe those times, and he's put on muscle, so again, I don't think he's a 4.4 level runner. If he gets invited to the combine, I'm guessing 4.58 or so.

He probably should tbh. He’s having a career season and rbs have a very limited number of years in their prime. Plus the threat of Burrow is probably part of the reason he’s had some of the running lanes he’s had this season. He likely won’t have a great 40 time but his stock is as high as it will be imo

I don’t think he will be projected in the top 4 rounds because of his size and lack of elite speed. That being said, his stock will likely never be higher than after this season and it might still make sense for him to go pro. He’s liable to lose a lot of touches next year to TDP and Emery, and he’s not going to get any taller or faster.
Pretty much this. I hope he gets paid. He deserves it. He catches the ball well too. Reminds me of Devonta Freeman.

I don't think I agree here. First, LSU has a LOT of running backs making a good living in the NFL as 3rd down guys or backups who have performed well due to their attention to pass protection and ability to catch out of the backfield. This pedigree helps our backs going forward, similar to the number of WRs we've got in the league that continue to impress coaches with their blocking and ability to play even without a lot of catches. Secondly, Clyde's game seems to fit very well with what a lot of the top offenses are doing in the NFL right now. Teams are throwing predominantly and using running backs creatively in the passing game and allowing that to open the running game. The league now is not at all similar to the Emmitt and Barry days or the Walter Payton days before that where running first set up the passing game. I think Clyde is a day two pick and will make a team like the Patriots or Eagles very happy.
