Didn't realize Clyde was only a junior. Does he declare at the end of the year?

He would be a big asset to whoever our QB next year would be if he does come back, and probably will have the offense getting him as many touches as he can afford even with Ty Emery and possible Evans coming in (with Curry most likely transferring out?)

Just curious on board opinions since it's bye week talk.

I haven't heard about where he would be projected to go.

If he's projected in the first two rounds I wouldn't blame him for declaring.

Unless he seriously impresses in pre-draft workouts that won't happen.

With his running style, I wouldn't be surprised to see him declare if he's projected in the 5th-7th. He's a shifty bruiser.

A RB should probably go a year early if they are projected anywhere in the first 5 rounds. One year makes a massive difference in a RB's pro career.

I don’t think he will be projected in the top 4 rounds because of his size and lack of elite speed. That being said, his stock will likely never be higher than after this season and it might still make sense for him to go pro. He’s liable to lose a lot of touches next year to TDP and Emery, and he’s not going to get any taller or faster.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes but hopefully he stays. Lots of us expected the freshmen to pass him, but he's been one of our brightest stars on a great offense. Don't know what his 40 time would be at the combine but it wouldn't surprise me if he raises eyebrows on the bench press.

I don’t think his height really hurts

I love my guy Clyde, and I’m not sure how much he could really improve his stock if he stays for a senior year. He should go in my opinion if he feels like he’s playing his best ball which many think he is. He could improve on protection a little, but he’s honestly pretty damn good there too for his size

Agreed. He knows how to use it to his advantage. Has Jones-Drew potential.

At 5'6", Darren Sproles doesn't think so either. CEH reminds me of him.

If he is top 4 rounds he should probably go. Not going to improve much more than that. Someone like Stevan Ridley lasted 7-8 years in the NFL even with injuries and pocketed 5.5 mil... personally I like him better than Ridley.

Clyde will make a good pro for the right team... his stock is at it's highest. Can't keep TDP & Emery, and (Zach) off the field next year. He's good, go pro!

he has led us in rushing every game this season, and if i had to guess he will be our leading rusher in every game moving forward.

lsu hasn't had the same player lead us in rushing every game in a season in a long time (although fournette was very close in 2015).

He had on of the highest ratings at the opening in high school. ran a 4.4. etc. He will kill at the combine. I think the question is, will returning help out his draft stock. I don't think so. With the short life span of a RB, I would leave early.

It feels like Clyde has been on the team forever. I guess because he has been a fixture on kick returns for so long.
