Aranda was given the title of Associate Head Coach in Jan 2018 to give him more money after TAMU made the big run at him for their DC job. Was the title more than a way to give Aranda more money? Did it also actually come with more responsibility and power as well?

Aranda was already the head coach of the defensive side of the ball with basically total autonomy from CEO meddling from 2016-2019. Was Aranda also keeping everything held together in the organization as well from the Associate HC position?

Once Aranda left after the 2019 NC season, CEO's ego and chaotic management style were left un-checked, and we are seeing the program unraveling as a result

Did Aranda leave because he knew what was on the horizon?

Yeah I think so. I don’t know what all of his responsibilities were in regards to maintaining the program as a whole. But since he’s been gone, players are immensely less prepared. On both sides of the ball. Seems to be a serious lack of structure. I can definitely tell you he prepared the defense for the season much better.

Let's see, Orgeron's SEC record with Aranda: 24-7

Without Aranda, O's SEC record is 8-26.

We definitely underestimated his ability to adjust to offenses. Since he left we've gotten the same shite every game on defense with no season or in game adjustments.

culotta made a point last night about meetings with the LSU AD after the CEO vs Canada altercation in 2017 with Alleva, CEO, Canada and Aranda in attendance. So Aranda had some power beyond just being the DC even before the Associate Head Coach announcement in Jan 2018

It’s almost like that was part of the agreement when they hired him.

But it should not be that hard to find another coach who can do the same. There are a lot of high quality assistants to be had. You just have to make the right hire. It happens every year to most teams.

Associate HC is generally a title bestowed so that you can justify giving a coach more money.

He probably left because he was offered a P5 HC job

Lol. I wouldn't want Aranda as head coach.

yea but you have to find one that wants to work under Orgeron. Generally these guys are looking for spots that will benefit their careers in the long run whether it’s gaining insight from the HC or opening doors to other opportunities down the road. What benefit would they gain from working under Orgeron?

Now we got Mickey "Used car salesman that has no clue how to coach WR's, but is a great recruiter that NOLA high school coaches Love" Joseph as the Associate HC. (That's a perfect match for this program currently)
