No. McMahon was concerned that he might rebound

People told me this team has talent because guys had a 4 and 5 * next to their name out of HS. There is a major coaching issue, as well as a major talent issue.

No reasonable person thinks this team has close to average talent.

People who are disappointed had unrealistic expectations.

LSU fans having expectations of beating fricking Nichols is unrealistic?

This team was trash last year, and it seems like they will be trash again this year. Tell us what the expectations should be?

It’s the same thing all the time from posters like that.

Off season- “McMahon’s killing it on the recruiting trail”

Regular season starts - “he just doesn’t have any talent”

These people are clowns

Anyone who thinks it’s a talent issue is an imbecile. It is a coaching issue. We’ve been more talented than both nicholls and Dayton.

Madking you misunderstood me when I brought up talent against Nicholls. You thought I was saying nicholls was more talented than us, but I was actually saying we were more talented than nicholls. Way more. Either you misunderstood me or you just strawmanned me to make me look stupid.

Our team is talented. We just have a coach that can’t get anywhere near the most out of our players.

I do think McMahon did well this off-season with transfers and recruits. We also have solid recruits coming in next year.

The thing is though, this only makes him look worse. We continue to get embarassed despite having the personnel to succeed. Our players are not the problem. He is.

Maybe the Tuba still has some eligibility left?

I believe that he got in very early during a free throw. The ref was checking some kind of white deal on his wrist. He left the game shortly afterwards.

Are we supposed to pretend this is a talented team?

Agree and yes I misread you post during Nicholls. McMahon is in over his head. At his best his teams execute in the half court on offense pretty well but that’s all you’re going to get from him and that’s far from enough to win at this level. His teams don’t defend well, they don’t rebound, he can’t adjust during games and, he’s one of the worst second half coaches I’ve ever seen, they don’t execute on either side when the other coach makes it a 90 foot game and he’s bad situationally.

The team has talent. You can see it developing in Reed and Ward especially. They just have some weaknesses, handling full court pressure being one of them. Unfortunately beat the full court press is a team effort. Everyone has to do their part in attacking it and that takes time to develop.

Glad we could bury the hatchet and come to an agreement.

We need Jalen Cook to get cleared. He might make a difference on the floor and make McMahon a better coach

It's pretty obvious McMahon thought Cook's waiver would clear and he's shitting the bed without him.

His fault for betting on the NCAA clearing him. Needed to make the team better prepared without him.

Prior to the season with Cook, this roster was ranked b/w 50-55 best nationally by some of the advanced metrics sites that do roster analysis. Then, that dropped slightly after Cook was declared ineligible. Not an elite roster, but one that theoretically could have competed as a "Bubble Team" this season.

The fact that you have grouped Dayton and Nichols together as having similar levels of talent proves that you have no idea what you are talking about.
