I’d say it’s a combination of:
1. being minutes away from firing Les
2. Changing minds and looking like incompetents
3. firing him a short time into the season
4. promoting Orgeron
5. then without any apparent search just making him the coach, a guy that probably no other P5 school would even interview
6. Orgeron hires OC to change the offense and can’t get along with him and meddles
7. Fires OC and hires yet another guy no P5 school would even want to interview
Before anyone turns this into another worthless Pro-O, Anti-O thing, I’m just pointing out why I think the fan base is in the dumps. O and E could turn out great. 2018 had some good notes. Recruiting looks good.
Bottom line is that there is a perception that from the state government to Alexander to Alleva there is meddling and incompetence

Yeah that’s true. But the course was pretty well set for the season at that point.
Not really.

I’ve never been more pissed leaving a game than I was leaving Lambeau. All summer we heard how Les was gonna change the offense. And he basically said, “frick you” to everyone there that day.

Was one of the best travel trips, until Les shite the bed. I lost all respect for Les that day realizing he was just playcatting to the masses. I thought he was above that.

LOL. It was the echo chamber. Les never said he would do so, and it wasn't reasonable to expect him to do so.

Ha ha ha... same here! Best trip ever until the end of the game!

That’s when I gave up on miles. Lied to us all off season about offensive changes, playcalling, etc. We looked exactly the same if not even more inept and one dimensional.
The cheap shot at the end was a pathetic end to an absolute dogshit performance.
Otherwise great road trip

Great trip with my two boys. Best away trip ever. Up until the game sucked so bad. That, and Alleva and FKing fking up the coaching situation then giving up any semblance of a search and hiring 0 finished the turnoff. The UTw game in Austin is a bucket list trip, but I’m struggling at the thought of spending all the time and money to go watch us running the same offense we’ve seen for the last decade and hoping Aranda’s D can win the game.

I was at all of those games. It was clear to me leaving Lambeau that LSU didn’t care about winning anymore. They kept Les after 2015, he wasted having Leonard and now we’re stuck with Orgeron.

Fans are getting tired of neutral site games
I understand that season ticket holders would feel cheated by these (and I have season tickets), but I’ve enjoyed the neutral site trips.

I drank my sorrows away that day/night.
Then had to drive a RV back 16 hours. Not fun.

I was there with my son. The most perfect day for football I've ever experienced from a weather standpoint. Totally comfortable short sleeve weather. The people were so nice. LSU fans parking in their driveways (a moneymaker for them), but they were generally friendly and a lot of fun. It was Wisconsin, so a terrific menu of beer and sausage. Inside Lambeau it was absolutely magical- the colors of purple and gold mixed with red inside the sunny stadium and all of the shrines to Packer greats. Even Jimmy Taylor was an honorary captain at midfield. I would say about 30,000 LSU fans made the trip all way to Lambeau to celebrate the beginning of a great season against who? Wisconsin? A good and okay team in the past for the slow-footed Big 10 but certainly not nearly LSU's level talent wise.
Then the game started. It was like, "What is happening? I can't believe this?" Obviously, Wisconsin was ready. LSU had stolen their defensive coordinator. But they were stopping LSU and moving the ball on LSU. We thought LSU would snap out of it at halftime, but it only got worse. It went from disbelief to pure anger. Fournette wasn't Fournette. He was hurt more than people realized before the game, and he was injured worse near the end when LSU was trying drive for a field goal. As time ran out I remember Cam Cameron sitting on the bench with Brandon Harris, both with heads down knowing that they'd just failed mightily.
As we left the stadium I remember thinking Miles is gone because he just pissed off 30,000 pure fans who spent a lot of money to make a long trip expecting a blowout against an out manned Wisconsin team. And his team looked like they didn't care, showing up totally unprepared. At least the Wisconsin fans didn't make it worse. I remember two years earlier after beating them in Houston some rowdy fans on the rail car were shouting and cursing and pushing people. This time the only guy who spoke to me smiled, and in a friendly, yet sarcastic way said, "Thanks for coming."

If that is true at all it is pretty easy to bring the fanbase back to traveling fanatics and next year O has a really good chance at doing that.

...They had a very competent QB on the bench and an incompetent QB on the field...

I said as I left the stadium that was ok with it because I knew it had to happen to get Les out . I’ve traveled to many away games since. So that’s a No for me dog
