As far as you remember you are wrong his stats from 2024 show he averaged -0.2yds per carry. Thats a far cry from a running qb. The kid is more mobile than nuss but not even in the same realm as Daniels was during his lsu days. Honestly we need more sample size to even see if he can see the field and be as good as burrow was seeing the field and running he for damn sure can’t sling it like burrow or Daniels

cool. Didn't know for sure, and at that moment I thought he was one... thought it wouldn't hurt to go ground and pound for a drive. We basically had the game barring turnovers at that point, i figured a 3-4 minute drive would be good just with the clock.

I clearly misunderstood his skill level rushing.

Y'know, I dont even think I was the poster referred to in the OP. I said something like "isn't Van Buren a runner? Maybe we need that for a drive".

There WAS someone who wanted to yank Nuss permanently, as i recall lol

I was pretty positive last night, I was the one who commented that if we could calm down and not get caught up with emotions in the first half, we should be able to take control of the game. Fla seemed to want to stir shite up even before kickoff, I think that was their only hope.

I was a little worried late that someone would get their leg twisted in a pile, Fla seemed to be on the edge of doing that type of thing. Didn't want to be Nuss.

Been spamming admins to start topic bans to fix shutting down tRant, but Ig were gonna keep letting kids who can't handle their liquor spew their idiocy all over the board.

Flynn/Perilloux?

Ultimately, I think we're still going to be fine. People are forgetting that Nussmeier lost 3 of his favorite targets last year- Lacy, Taylor, and CJ Daniels... and keep in mind Daniels missed a few games last season, or he'd likely have been higher than 4th in catches. He seemed like the surehanded guy you went to when you need a catch.
Anderson returns, but he's not your go-to possession guy; not big enough. He's more of the playmaker type you go to on early downs a lot.
Once Nuss gets comfortable with this new group, and one of the tight ends emerges, I think we'll see numbers like last year.

I also think with Durham, as long as you can keep him healthy, he may push for 1k yds. Crazy to think about when he really hasn't had clean lanes. I think there may be some change in scheme coming, where once we get up 10 or so, you might see some more run-friendly formations and try to run the ball and clock.
We've got plenty of guys who can break out, and it's safe to say the defense is for real at this point.

I noted that as bad as this board feels about LSU, over on ESPN Mark Schablach still has us making the title game.
